And I am so happy you like Hildchen and her little wool provider
The cardigan took me quite a while to knit and the wool is hand dyed as well....
I am glad they arrived safely and I am sure they enjoy their big adventure

Sabine
Happy New Year to you as well Berta and to everybody else
I am sure it will be a great 2015 with lots of new creations-looking forward to see you and your little friends in Münster again
Bearhugs,
Sabine
Hope to see you next year in Münster again Pink
Glad you like my little wool addict
Hildchen is quite excited, she will travel a long, long way
Sabine
Meet Hildchen and her little wool suppliers.
She stands 3.2“ (8cm) tall and made of ivory colored longpile fabric.
Hildchen is 5-way disc jointed, arms and legs are wired and she is filled with sheep wool.
Cardigan and socks are knitted with miniature knitting needles (0.7mm) from hand dyed fine pure wool.
The miniature sheep are between 0.6” 1.2” (1,5 – 3cm) tall. They are made from Smokey Longpile, Vintage Rayon and Ultra Suede.
The black and the white one are old enough to give their wool for the scarf but the little brown one has to wait for another year.
Wooly Greetings,
Sabine
Yes Rikki, I know its different to the way we knit. A couple of years ago people where looking for new ways to knit socks, because they had problems to knit the heel.
The spiral sock is a kind of tube sock. All you have to do is knit and perl. For example:then you knit 4,perl 4,knit 4, perl 4 and so on.
After 4 rows you change the pattern:
On 5th round, work P5 once, so ribs move over 1 stitch.
There are lots of free patterns on Ravelry:

We did not have any snow yet but we are living near Berlin but further south its probably different
@Michelle
Thats how I started my miniature knitting- knitting on pins
But as I started to knit jumpers and dresses, pins are to short for the amount of stitches.
A friend of mine from Australia send me my first miniature knitting needles, now we produce them ourself.
The 0.8mm needles are really good.I also have 0.6mm ones. But they are extremly sharp.I use them for really fine knitting, together with a single thread of cross stitch yarn.
On my shows I always have magnifying glasses with me, so the visitors can see the tiny details of the knitting

@ Pink
Yes it has been a busy year.On Saturday I will have my last show, on our German historical christmas market.
Lots of traditional crafts, the tower brass band is playing old christmas songs,no blinking lights, people in historical costumes from 1900.
Its nice and cosy and you well get the perfect christmas feeling
I am really looking forward to the show
@Rikki
Your family will definitely need warm socks. This morning we had -5 °C, really frosty outside.
Did you try to knit spiral socks for your teds? A friend of mine could not knit the heels,so she decided to knit the spiral sock-quite easy
So,back to my needles, still need to make some miniature sheep for my nativity set...
Season Greetings,
Sabine
My miniature bears have been so well-behaved this year so I knitted them some christmas stockings.
Little Henry is just 1.8" and has 5 disk joints.
I think he looks quite happy with his present.
The stocking is knitted with miniature knitting needles 0.8mm and I used pure wool, which makes them nice and cosy.
Sabine
I am so glad you do like the film-
But are you ready for this???
Here are more than 500 pictures of the fair. The Teddybear Total team took a photo of every excibitor and one piece of his work.
So,take a cup of tea and go for it
Impressions of a great teddybear birthdayparty

Enjoy the show

You will not believe what I found in my letterbox today
A christmas card from Pat...
It was posted on the 12th December...
Well, just 2 month on the way
So,thanks Pat for the really big surprise
Sabine
Happy New Year Berta and for everyone else as well.
I am sure-it will be just a brilliant, constructive,happy and healthy 2014
bearhugs,
Sabine
I am so sorry I have not posted a picture earlier but just before Christmas its always tremendously busy in our engineering office
I received so many beautiful Christmas cards-thank you very much Geraldine,Pink,Conni,Peter,Heather,Hans-Juergen,Lyn and Gail
My cards a shown from somebody very special- my very first vintage bear-I call him "Boots"
I found him in a tiny antiques shop, hidden behind some old crockery
Yes I know he is not realy a beauty but I felt in love instandly.
A friend of mine, Daniel Hentschel, told me it could be a french bear from around 1920
Hugs,
Sabine
I ment this is a professional gang of thieves- they are well organized -thats what the organizers of the fair told me.
They are not amatuers just waiting for a chance, they are watching the exhibitors exactly, because nobody leaves their money unwatched...
Most of the exhibitors have been warned that this group of professionals is in Münster too...
Just hope they learned theire lesson but I dont think so...
Berta is right, it was an absolut brilliant show-many international people around. The George Dinner was fantastic and we had a lot of fun.
We will be there next year again-thats for sure
If I spot more phots or a video I will post the link immediately
Sabine
I will have a look on Ikuma, when I have a bit spare time in Münster.
The programming is more interessting for me and I am looking forward to see it in real life..
We just see it as a toy but Chris is right, there are several different types in the human care involved.
I have seen one which looked like a baby seal and it took all relevant vital sign of the person who gave it a cuddle.
If I had the choice between a normal blood pressure monitor or to cuddle a baby seal - I would take the seal
Hi, my name is Henry and I am 1.8" tall (standing), which is 4.5cm.
I am fully jointed, made of Vintage Rayon and filled with sheep wool.
Because I am a big boy, I made a little trip in our garden and I met many busy bees.
Next week we are traveling to Münster and I am looking forward to meet lots of friends..
See you there!!!
Well, yes I did get a bear for Christmas but also a little big for New Years Eve-does this count as well?
It was a swap in a german teddy bear group.
For the Christmas swap I was sending my little chrismas snail and a little red bear came to live with me...
And as a talisman for the new year I swapped my little piggy (Erdmute an Angler Sattel pig-the one which is brown and white) and a wild boar came back - it is so cute and handsome - no problem with the integration with my other critters
So, this should be a lucky year,
Lucky greetings from Germany,
Sabine
Oh you can use Alpaca fleece for lots of things - did you ever try drop spinning?
I enclose a link to a wonderful website with tons of information about Alpacas:

Have fun, I am looking forward to use my spinning wheel again...
Sabine
Oooh, I missed this Card Exchange
Every year I send lots of xmas cards, its always a nice surprise to find a card in the letter box....
But next year I will keep my eyes open, I dont want to miss it again....
Winter greetings from Germany,
Sabine

She is made of vintage longpile and poly plush and filled with sheep wool and stainless steel micro shot.
Now she is available as a complete kit, inclusive handmade bone and her cool hair.
So, a small snail-ready for big adventures
Hope you like her,she is one of my big fellows
Sabine
When I bought my domain,I got a package of software to create my website. But I dont like to use templates which everybody uses.
Normally this package includes a drag and drop editor, which you can use without programming skills,FTP,a photo software a.s.o.
I design, created and programmed my website all by myself-HTML and Jacascript -no fuss...I am oldfashioned there..
I use good old GoLive-its now Dreamweaver. There are no updates available but I dont need one-programming languages will not change...
And I love Photoshop-yes its a complex and expensiv software-but its worth every penny-IF you use it on regular bases..
A lot of my friends use wordpress for blogging and they didnt complain..
Sabine
I am not quite sure if I would buy him. Of course, he has an interesting and fascinating history - but he looks to new for such an old bear.
He probably spend most of his life in a safe environment- because he is worth a fortune.
But I like bears with character - which have been loved and played with.
Like my old bear from 1920. He has no single hair left and you can see that somebody realy liked him.
He was hidden in an antique shop, because the owner thought that he was to ugly to be sold.
Call it stupid, but I would not sell him for 25.000 Euro
Well Peter, you really thought a lot about this topic.I would not spend that money either on a sports car- mmh probably
because I have no driving lisence
I am not sure if burglars really would leave the bear in its place, I would be worried about its safety...
Sometimes its better not to have a lot of money - One thing less to worry about
Sabine
This weekend Steiff collectors from around the world met in Giengen.
One of the highlights was the auction of Othello, the Titanic bear.
On the Teddybär Total Show in Munster in April, everybody could have a look at him.
Unfortunately I was to busy to meet him.
Othello was sold for 25.000 Euro thats around 30.800 USD....
But until now there are no informations who bought Othello...
Whould you ever pay a prize like this for the bear of your dream?
I thought thats a nice topic to start the discussions again
Greeting from Germany,
Sabine
