Hi,
How big are your bears?, I have been make bears 18 months now & I have only recently used nuts & bolts, I prefer cotter pins, I've used cotter pins on bears up to 12 inches with no problems, but let me ask you are your bears going to be played with? If so maybe nuts & bolts are the way to go.
Also I glue the washer, disk and bolt together first otherwise you could be turning the nut on the other end until the cows come home  bear_original

Love to see you bears

Hi All,
When I bought my last lot of supplies I was given a dozen of these but I'm having problems deciding where to sew them on my bears, any thoughts?
Also this has lead me to wonder how do you "sign" your bears1368257099_image.jpg
They are half and inch big

Tatty Bears

Hi,
This is my first attempt at a dog, I have named him scruff, which I think suits him and I am pleased with his "I didn't do it" expression, he is 28 cm big.1367472332_image.jpg

Thanks everyone,
I have taken some stuffing out and that has made it a bit easier to sculpt some eye sockets, going from eye to eye rather than through the back of the head worked out better because of the thread breakage.
I have tried beading thread and upholstery thread but maybe I'll have to get some sinew, can I buy it anywhere other than teddy bear supplies though?

Tatty Bears

Hi Everyone,
I am currently make a bear that desperately needs eye sockets, she had a very pointed nose and I've been told "it looks like a Womble" bear_angry
I've tried to do eye sockets but because her head is so firmly stuffed nothing's happening and the thread is breaking, how do you do it? Am I going to have to take some stuffing out?
ANY help welcome.  bear_original

Tatty Bears

Hi Tatiana,
Welcome, I think I am in love your dog is beautiful.
Is it your own pattern? I would love to make him. I am currently on my first dog he is from a Lisa Pay pattern but I am thinking of ways to make him "special" did you put wire in the ears and is that a clay nose?
If my dog comes out half as good I will be very happy. Beautiful xxx

Tatty Bears

I don't sell any of my bears yet but if i do I would call myself Tatty Bears like my user name because after trying my hand at different styles if teddys ive decided that's the kind of bears I like to make  bear_original
