For artists and collectors sponsored by Intercal...your mohair supplier and Johnna's Mohair Store
Hi everyone!
I wanted to share a photo of Treat - a one of a kind 5" Pixie Bear.
He's on his way to his new home in California
Please meet Harvest! He's a one of a kind 13" mohair bear currently looking for his new home on Bearpile: http://www.bearpile.com/item/111632
Like Joanne, I use the zinc coated bb's from Walmart and the tiny "micro shot" from Sassy's for my mini's. Sassy's can run out of the micro shot so when she has it in stock I order a good amount.
If you use the Copics, be sure to use a hair dryer for about 5 minutes to heat set the color.
Thank you SueAnn - and Nancy I'm so glad you are enjoying the class!
Thanks Becky! It is going well - my latest student is from Spain. Love how I can teach others to learn how to make bears to anyone with an internet connection! More classes are coming soon
Hi, I know this is an old thread, but I thought I'd add my reply because I'm sure people still find this thread.
http://www.TeddyBearAcademy.net has online bear making classes with complete videos. I loved teaching bear making workshops but time prevents me from traveling much to do that - so I created Teddy Bear Academy so that you can take classes "with me" from where ever you are
You are welcome
Hi! I'm not sure if this is the same person, but there is a beyondbears on eBay. Maybe you can try to contact them? http://www.ebay.com/usr/beyondbears
Thank you!!

I have 4 new bears in the Artist Teddy Bears International Auction Event. The auction has started and will run until midnight PST Sunday September 14th.
I decided to make this event fun by starting all four of my bears at $24.95. Each bear has a Buy it Now of their regular $65 if you find a bear that just must be yours ;)
All of the auction bears are now on the home page of: www.ArtistBearsInternational.com
You do have to register to bid. There is no cost to register. The site will direct you to the registration page when you go to place a bid if you are not logged in.
Bear hugz,
Laura Lynn
That sounds awesome! I have not tried it before but I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with!
Hi CC,
The benefits of dyeing tan mohair is just that you get a different color/shade than you get when you dye white mohair :)
Have fun!
You are welcome and thank you Becky!
Oh you are going to love working with mohair! I love working with both straight and wavy mohair. If your animals are a lot like your weasel/otter then you will want to stick with straight mohair. He's turning out quite cute but I'm sorry about his leg
I like to get white and also shades of tan so I can dye it. Yes, I'll dye tan mohair too, not just white!
I'm offering a $10 discount for TT members! Just enter the Coupon Code MARCO-TT when you check out to receive your discount. The discount code is good until the first day of class (Sept 15)
I just wanted to announce a new online class I'm offering that will run from September 15 thru October 14.
Marco is a 12" mohair bear. We will go over both cotterpin joints and also bolt & locknut joints.
The class is now interactive! We will have a private Facebook group for the class so that you can ask me questions, share your progress and chat with everyone.
Find more information and sign up at http://www.teddybearacademy.net/marco-12-jointed-teddy-bear-class/
Great! It probably depends on how firmly you stuff the head. Mine are very firmly stuffed so no, it won't go deeper into the head. If you need to, you could lie the bear down and prop up the antenna so they are level with the head...?
Hi Lesley,
Your bears are cute! You did a good job on the website too. I have one suggestion for photographing your bears - have them look into the camera just like you are trying to take a "portrait" of a person. The eye contact is so important in bear photos
I'm not quite sure what you are asking - are you asking how to attach antenna to the head of the bear?
If so, I make my antenna out of wire usually, and then I use my awl to put a little hole into the bear's head (not for the faint of heart )
Then I dip the end of the wire into super glue and stick it into the hole.
Thanks Becky! I am having a blast with the new site - and I love giving stuff away for free when I can
