How pretty is this girl! This is a different look for you (must be those big, lidded eyes). Her new mom or dad is going to be over the moon, I'm betting!

I know it's not possible to dye black fur to make it lighter, and bleaching seems possibly unwise. Shading/coloring on top of the black might be a better option.

Very sweet, old-fashioned girl and her teddy. I love their clothes, too!

Thanks very much for the lovely comments, Peter, Pink, and Esther! I'm happy that you like him!
Becky
Aww... Both of them are adorable! It's no wonder that their new mum loves them. They look quite squeezable.

My last commissioned bear of 2015 is this sweetie, made to honor the love of a newly engaged couple. They will be naming the bear.
We do know that he's a boy, and he's made of a lovely wavy mohair and has soft espresso-brown velvet paw pads and green glass eyes. I hope you like him!

love bear
I'm not an airbrush artist, but from what I've seen, that makes the most natural-looking spots. Do you have the copic airbrush?

How wonderful that your wife is happy! Thanks for following up with this update.

Sorry to hijack your post, nounours. Pattycake is a new member, and it sounds as if she is very new to bear making as well. (Probear is a wonderful supplier for bear makers who live in Europe.)
Becky
Pattycake, this bear is made from mohair fabric. It's a natural fiber that comes from a special kind of goat.
Most of us order mohair (or alpaca, viscose, or synthetic plush) from suppliers (mail order). If you tell us which part of the world you live in, we can probably recommend some good suppliers.
