coconutmouse_01_23-12-08cropsmall.jpgcoconutmouse_04_23-12-08small.jpgI would like to introduce to you my latest creation, my very first mini a 5 inch mouse complete with his own mossy coconut. He has no name as yet and will be a Christmas gift for my brother who loves mice and rats. This little guy is made from sassy fabric, has German glass eyes, needle sculpted face, embroidered and waxed nose, wired tail, arms and legs, and is stuffed with polyester and glass beads.

Hi,
I generaly use linen thread for my whiskers and put a sink knot to hold it in place in the muzzle. However I have heard of people using horse hair and fishing line but I have no experince using these perhaps someone else can offer some help.

I would reccomend 101 Bears to Make by Nancy Tilberg, It is a little difficult to find and can be expensive, but it's well worth it. I also have Jennifer Laings Constructing Teddy and His Friends and have found it helpful too.

Moki-Monkey_with-original_26-10-08websmall.jpgMoki-Monkey_07_26-10-08web.jpgHi, This is my latest commissioned piece. He is made from synthetic fur, has saftey eyes, is unjointed and stands at about 20 inches. He was quite a challenge, the lady who I made him for had a toy monkey that was her sons and he has just had a son, and they wanted to start a tradition and give the baby a similar monkey, I hope they like him bear_original

Hi Judi,
Thankyou for all of your help, I took the plunge and bought an airbrush, it has a .35 nozzle not 35 oops  bear_happy
I'm so excited to give it a go, lots of practice on scraps first though  bear_original

Thanks again

I have a few more questions about airbrushes. My dad has been looking around for me and found some that he thinks will be alright for me to start off with. Is a 35mm valve good or does it need to be finer? Is a gravity feed or a bottle feed better? Dad has a few compressors of different sizes so that shouldn't be a big problem powering it.
Then once I get going what paints are best and will they need to be watered down etc...?

Thankyou  bear_original

I used my Copic "airbrush" system once... its been sitting in a drawer collecting dust for a few years now! I was NOT happy with it!
I have a Paasche airbrush... the "real thing".... and haven't gotten up the nerve to try it so am still using oil paints, pencils, etc. but I'll never use that Copic airbrush again!

I'm happy to mail my Copic airbrush to you if you want to pay postage... you can at least try it with out investing much!

Thankyou for the offer Daphne, I'll keep it in mind bear_original

Hi, I am considering buying a basic Copic Airbrush kit that is powered by a pressure can and would like some opinions about this product. For the moment I just want it for basic shading aaround eyes and muzzle and perhaps on edges of paws and bunny ears, nothing too intricate just yet. I mainly want to get a feel for airbrushing before I invest alot of money into a professional one.
Has anyone used this product? Is it worth the money or should I save and get a better quality one?
Any help greatly appreciated  bear_original
