Wonderful picture. I look at it and go "Wow ice" because here in the desert of Arizona we have not been under 110 during the day in the last month. Thanks for the cooling picture.
You did a wonderful job of getting them to grow. I live in Arizona and we have a lot cacti in our yard. This picture is a type of cactus that blooms in May for about two weeks. The bees love them as you can tell by the picture.
I had a etsy shop for a while but didn't do anything. Most of my friends who have shops there are not doing much or nothing either. I have heard some people do make good money there but I don't know any of those people. Just my three cents.

As the others have said, can't wait to see what you come up with. Strange usually comes out really neat.

I have bears in every room in my house in one form or another. I usually don't keep the ones I have created except one real fur bear that I make years ago, I kept. Too cute to sell. Sometimes my husband will say that the bears have taken over the house.

I use dowels to stuff my bears. I buy a bag of different sizes at my local craft store and then I sand on end so it is rounded and a little pointed and sand the rest of the dowel until it is smooth. This way I have different sizes for the different sizes of bears. This has worked for me for a lot of years but what ever works for you is best.

I use blush on some of my bears and on the dolls that I make. I put it on and let it sit for a while then rub it in. I does have a tenacy to fade with time but I find putting on a second coat and rubbing it in pretty much sets it. I have never tried any of the oil based products so don't know about that.
Have you hugged your bear today

Most everyone has a website and you can see the bears there. Good luck in finding just the right bear for you. Bears should be held. They like love too.

Enjoy your passion for bears. There are never enough bears in this world. If you can afford it, buy it and if not save for it. I not only make bears but collect too and there are bears in every room of my house in one shape or another

I make affordable bears that are childproof and I have always put joints in them. I have tried a few without joints and they just don't seem to sell. Anyway, that's my opinion.

Congrats to the son on the award and congrats to the wonderful mom who raised the son. You should be very proud.

You ladies are all wonderful. So many kind thoughts and encourgement. I do try to make a cute bear with an affordable price and the market for this has been very kind to me over the years. I will try to post pictures on this site as soon as I figure out how to resize what I have. They are too big to post right now.
Thank you, Eva
I suspect that maybe there are others who don't work in mohair that haven't come to this forum too. I know I put it off for a long time. I have sold a lot of bears over the years so I know that people like what I do. Some of my fancy dressed bears do go to collectors even though they are not in mohair. I have made special order bears out of old coats, in mink and in faux furs over the years. Glad to see there is someone else on this site who works in this type of fabric and furs.

I am new to the site and I have been looking at all the bears that everyone makes and I think gee, mine just don't compare to all the beautiful work that I see here. I have been designing and making bears for 30 years but I make mine mainly in a faux fur and with childproof eyes and noses. I did this in the beginning so that they would be for children and I never expanded into the true collector bear. Am I wrong in doing this type of work? I know I don't sell as many bears as I use too but they still do sell. I do love to dress my bears and each outfit I design especially for each of the bears. What do you think??
