Teddy Talk: Creating, Collecting, Connecting

Thank you so much, ladies ! ! !    Actually, I decided to see if I could make him more realistic than cartoonish, so I've been working on his face a little.  I'll post another picture when I think I might be done.

We moved into a new community 2 years ago and have made some really great friends.  We are going to their home New Years eve to celebrate.  Not sure what they have planned, but I'm sure just a quiet night with 3 or 4 couples.

When I was a kid, we used to bang pot lids together on the front porch at midnight.  Anyone else do that?

Jane,  YOU ROCK ! ! ! ! !   What a great Christmas present you have given all of us.  Thank you sooooooooooooooooooooo much.  What a popular group we are to have so many celebs join us in our fun too.   And . . . I'd love to share my favorite Christmas cookie recipe straight from the cookbook I compiled for my two darling girlies.

These cookies are soft and cakey. If you like ginger cookies, you'll love these.

Whoops . . . needing a bigger tree yet?  Aren't there about 4 more to put on the tree?  This is the coolest, Tammy.

Alrighty then . . .  yesterday I went to town and did ALL of my Christmas shopping in one day.  I'm done.  I did it all in one day.  I found everything I had planned to buy.  Whew ! ! !   Now to the wrapping.

Tammy,  you are da bomb.  (That's what my daughter's friend called me and said it was good.)

Shelli,   whatever you decide, I will be here to participate, help and support.  And, remember, I am only about 1-1/2 hours away from Sacramento as well, so let me know if there is anything I can do to help.  My daughter will be starting Sac State in January, so I will probably be down that way often.

Tammy, that is sooooooooooo funny.  I roast whole chickens often,  I'm going to do that on my next one and wait for the look of astonishment on hubby's face.  Tooooooooooooooo funny.    :crackup:  :crackup:  :crackup:

Catherine, what a cute picture.  Your kitty is posing for you, what a ham.  We used to have a kitty that sat up and begged like that too.  It was quite a fete for her as she was so fat, she really was begging for food.  We used to call her flabby Abby the tabby.

I bought a Janome Memory Craft 4800 about 4 years ago and I love it.  It has the up/down needle position feature, speed adjustment (so you can sew really slowly, good for those tight curves), needle threader, it does lettering in in script or printing with letters about 1/2 inch high, and about 100 different fancy stitches.  It does buttonholes like a dream, which is something I always hated to do.   It sews nicely through many layers (good for home dec sewing).  I've never had any trouble with it.

Charlotte,  your bear ornaments are amazing.  Wow, beadwork too, cool.

I am sooooo proud of her.   No, it isn't a career.  She sang all through school, leads in musicals, etc.  Sings at weddings, that sort of thing.   The CD was made for their wedding.  They played during the ceremony.  (Her hubby is a recording engineer.)

My favorite is my daughter, Tracy.  She has the voice of an angel and I LOVE to listen to her sing.  I soooo miss that since she moved to TN.  I have a CD she made singing "When You Say Nothin' At All".  I have it in my car and listen to it over and over when I need a Tracy fix.
