Teddy Talk: Creating, Collecting, Connecting

My last two auctions on e-bay I have had a question from a potential buyer but when I go to the question in my messages it is from a Hong Kong group selling I-Pods and such. No question at all about my bear..  Have totally ignored them, if it happens again I will notify e-Bay..

It is unbelievable what some people will try... thanks for the warning...

Well done Laraine, he is  one gorgous bear 

I send my bears in a gift box, try to co-ordinate the colour of the box with the bear.

The bear is in a cellaphane bag and then wrapped in tissue paper. Certificates and tags enclosed as well.

The box is then wrapped in brown paper and sealed securely, most likely the customer gets a bit frustrated trying to gain access to the little critter inside the box..

I am sending one of my bears off to New York tomorrow,  Noah has found a new home..

Ditto to the above posts.... your bears are terrific Jenny.   Maybe try selling a bit cheaper to make them available to more collecters.  Try one for a start and if that works just edge the prices up gradually,
Also do try other selling methods. I do craft markets as well as e-bay, when we are holidaying I take a selection of bears with me and that has been successful too.

Question 1.  Yes I have participated in random bear swaps (3).  Had lots of fun and enjoyed the experiance...

Question 2.  Agree to accept whoever I may be partnered with.

Question 3.  Disagree with sub-organise, 

Question 6.  A realistic deadline,  if for any reason swap partners have a hiccup with the deadline, communication with swap partner is vital.

Question 7.   Agree with your thoughts on this one.

Question 8.  Totally agree, swap partners to communicate with each other and come to a mutual agreement as to what they each are doing for the swap.

Swap organiser only responsible for pulling names out of hat and notifying who is paired with who..

I received an alert from e-bay today, it mentioned I had contacted a person through e-bay my messages and that they could be a fraudulant.
Went on to say, if I have paid for or sent items already then contact e-bay through this link.
It came through my messages at e-bay but I haven't received or sent any emails to the person they were refering to.

Didn't click on the link just deleted the email.... very strange..

I haven't been game either.  Though sometimes when I have the shading pen in my hand and I am heading for THE BEAR , the bear starts to look a bit distressed..

I too had tried the slash method but  it looked so awful.

Picked up a tip from a wonderful lady from this forum.
I cut a shape from felt, like an ear shape, hold it against the chin of the bear. When I am happy with the placement, and the size I then use the felt template to cut out a piece using the main fur. One piece fur, one piece ultra-suede for the inside of the mouth, then ladder stitch into position.  After attaching I then trim his new chin..

Gemma and Chloe,   guess what I have a tatoo as well.  I got it about 5 years ago. I always do things on the spur of the moment and so just walked into the tatoo shop in our town and got it done.
It is a rose bud at the top of my thigh.  Did my Mum freak out, but said she wasn't surprised.  My kids thought I was going through a mid-life crisis.

I will have a go'

1.  I am the baby of our family, sister 5 years older, brother 7 years older.

2.  I was born in the Yallourn hospital (Victoria) which has since been demolished and the spot where the hospital was is an open cut coal mine now.

3. When I was working, at the age of 17 I got "Belle of the Ball" at an end of year ball for my workplace.

Such a long time ago but it only seems like yesterday....

I generally attach the swing tags to one of the bears ears..

I have had success on e-bay and also I do about 4 craft markets each year and do reasonably well at these too.

I have only sold a couple directly from my website.  As we holiday in our caravan quite a bit I take a small range of bears with me and have sold most of the ones that have travelled with us.

Oh Eileen, I am getting teary too.  It is so sad when our animals pass on as they always give love unconditionally.   Our dog is 16 years also and we are dreading the day when her time comes.

We are the hosts this year, so it is a BBQ with a couple of our friendly neighbours. 
Most likely as soon as the clock ticks over all will go back to their homes and go off to Noddy land.
Not really party animals anymore, it takes to long, even days to recover..
