Great job on Tobias and his outfit,Kim! ...and I think a wonderful deal all 'round for you with the trade...

Your friend Marty will be the only person who knows and will appreciate the amount of work you put into doing that outfit.

bumblebearies

Hey Karen... bonus!@  now a face to put to the beautiful works...

nice to see you.

bumblebearies

I like Twig...might have to make one for me....and good info on the sculpting Chrissi....tx for posting.

bumblebearies

Chloe... they probably just mean fold the rounded parts over on themselves...the straight part will still be the portion you stitch to the head, although once you stitch it together a bit..it might be more of a V shape?  ..it makes it look like there is an earhole I guess if you fold over the rounded edges.  Never heard of this before..but there is always a first time for everything eh?

bumblebearies

Daphne,...

how small do you need them?  I have seen pretty tiny ones at the pet shops... chihuahua (sp?) size.  Also... some of the little shops that have all the mod. type jewellery and whatnot for the kids.... they are wearing things similar to dog collars as wrist bands ... leather with diamante studs etc...

perhaps if u make them out of some stiffer type fabric that is a leather look alike...upholstery vinyl or something?

bumblebearies

Looks like a couple of those old fashioned cushions with all the rolling, pleating and tucking...yep.... two cushions joined with those honking big odd coloured handles....very strange....I pass.

bumblebearies

Sharon.... check under the challenge section....we have a little magic into the world thing going on...just us on TT..no big thing..but.... you should enter him ..... he would fit right in... with some Labyrinthian types.

bumblebearies

They can't even spell "remuneration"....... hahahhahha ..... yeh...run don't walk...far, far  away from any and all like this.....

"World Representative" ,indeed....puhleeze..... lol

bumblebearies

Gaby.... you only do it because you want to do it.   And you must not believe all you read in some blogs either...it is the internet after all... some of them are total stories....... not saying that about our TT blogs..but it is a known fact that there are plenty of scammers and other strange people out there.   If you do a lot of blog hopping and internet surfing you will figure it out.

Nothing says you have to use real names of people ,or name any at all....   ...don't bother with street addresses and such....(although I happen to think that advertising your name... your birthday and your town, and showing a picture of yourself...  on here.....  is much worse as far as giving identity thieves a grasp on something big)..but, it would have to be a pretty determined thief that would travel half way around the world to try to rob somebody they think may have more than they do.  If a few thieves happen to live in the same city...so what?  More thieves that don't bother with the internet are out there roaming your neighbourhood every day..looking for opportunity.   You should have security and an alarm that is monitored 24/7 by security forces just to be safe in a good sized city these days anyway.

I have a blog mostly because a website or homepage is more than I can figure out....blogs by comparison are pretty simple... and even then I got some help from Laura Lynn and Lisa.....       A blog can still showcase some of our work...hold our other page links to show more of it ...and plenty of links of other artists and also pass on much information so that people can blog hop and find plenty more info on many subjects besides what we do.    You only tell what you want to tell and use it almost as a journal of some things.... so you yourself can refer to it.  You don't really do it for others.... except in the more or less reciprocating aspect of listing other's blogs and sites in order to help them get their dolls and bears out there to a larger audience.

And yes...many are relegated to the back burner as soon as some folks begin them...others last a few months..perpahs a few years... and then languish...but many I have read for years are still going strong....life changes....real life interferes and they move on... but for some ..their blogs are their lives.  It is all they can manage as they are housebound or living in wheelchairs.......it is a lifeline for them.

bumblebearies

Lisa..... next time could you just take him as "carry-on"??

Yipeeeeee... Bubba's back...... yessss!

Who cares if we're nuts...sometimes it is exactly what gets us through...

bumblebearies

Judi.. just click "blog" under anybody's avatar...and it will take you there.  then.. when u are ready..go to blogger.com or one of the other blog sites... and set up one of your own...I did it and it was pretty straight forward.  If you need help...Laura Lynn and Lisa are very helpful... they know the ropes.... lol

Come on in.... the water's fine.......

bumblebearies

Great job Sue!  Sure doesn't look like a first bear...

Know what you mean by a "one off"... and you know..that feeling almost never goes away for me...   When I began making doll faces...I wondered if I would be able to make another just as nice...and even still...each time I begin to draw a face.. will I be able to get a nice one?  Silly ..but true....

bumblebearies

I love how you get such lovely big round snouts on them. ..even the little guys.
How about Tansly for a name?

bumblebearies

.. only one more teensy thing...cut the thread on a diagonal..so it is even sharper...and hardly any fuzzies to tame...lol

bumblebearies

Laura...I think I have discovered that if a blogger is doing some editing... the comment thingy doesn't work while they are there "doing".  You click on "publish" and nothing happens.  I did it several times on Jennifers the other day ..but then... decided to see if that was what it was.... copied, saved my comment...and went back in about 5 mins...and pasted it it...clicked publish..and away it went.

bumblebearies

Okay Andrea...what is going on over there?   You must be able to just shove the thread through the hole in the bead cant you?  Even 1mm beads have holes plenty big enough for carpet and button thread.   They come threaded on a piece of fishing line or thick thread when I buy them.  Perhaps a couple of your beads have plugged holes? Hold the bead with haemostats.... over something light so u can see the hole,... or just cup your hand and hold it in there...usually u can see the hole against the colour of a hand... you absolutely must get a good light though.........and just poke the thread thorugh the hole.

or......get a beading wire..it is a very thin metal filament.. thread the the jointing thread through it and then take it through the bead hole..and then change needles to get the thread through the head of the bear.

bumblebearies

yes...but don't forget to count the number of times u go there to check if a visitor goes there...it seems to count us too...even going back and forth to do the editing if I am not getting visitors while I am doing that.

bumblebearies

Does anybody know if the comments would be temporarily disabled if the blogger was working on editing hr blog or something?   that could be one reason for not being able to leave as well I suppose if it happens.  I am unsure on that.

bumblebearies

Jodi....my best advice is to keep your mind and your eyes on what you are doing...it is not like stitching a bear in front of the tv.  Your fingers will be in peril if you stab them..... it hurts!  I think when I began, perhaps I stabbed too hard, it doesn't take that much power to put a needle into some wool after all.  LOL

ger a move on...wanna see something...

bumblebearies

Look what we awoke to this morning Tammy...

the branches of the tress are groaning under the weight of the wet snow..
