No thanks necessary

Well, I thank you anyhow, Shelli, if it's ok.    It's my fluffy good fun cup of . . . . hot chocolate with marshmallows . . . mmmmm.  I'll be working on my cards this weekend.

Swan Valley Bears

I bought a tree like yours (Lisa and Jodi) last year at an after Christmas sale.  I set it up but I like the ones that are wider at the bottom.  Hmm . . . this year after Christmas, I'm going to look for a fatter one on sale.  The skinny one can go in the family room next year.   I'll post pics when I'm completely done decorating (which should be tonight since I'm having company for din-din tomorrow.)

I thought it was pretty cold here last night at 36 degrees.  I guess it was really warm, comparatively speaking.

Swan Valley Bears

Heather,   Your website is great.  Everything worked fine and fast for me.

Swan Valley Bears

I sent mine on Tuesday the 28th  and haven't received an email yet either.  You must be extremely busy, Mindy.  Should I re-send it?  I just answered the application questions in my email.  Should I have scanned the application and attached it?

Hi Gaby,   Here in the US, there aren't really any fast and hard rules for baby showers.  Usually it's given by a close friend.  As far as location, it depends on the amount of people invited.  I've been to showers at community halls and restaurant banquet rooms but most of the time they are given in the host's home.  Gifts . . . anything goes.  You hope the mom will be receiving all the necessities, though.  Often, the mom registers at a department store baby department or even Toys R Us.  Time . . . I'd say 7th  or 8th month.

Oh Marion,  I think I'd be sleeping in the guest room.

Swan Valley Bears

Marion, you made me laugh.  What is Fred doing???   How do you sleep with all that snoring and gastric disturbance going on all night ?! ?!

Yep, Buster is 31 lbs.  He could stand to loose a couple.

Oh Marion,  look at your adorable babies.  I want another one.

Swan Valley Bears

Mindy,

I emailed mine today.  I listed under the name of Swan Valley Bears as I am changing my business name at the first of the year.

I just LOVE it, Jodi.  How do you get those animated avatars.  Do you have to have it hosted someplace else, I wonder?????

I use the quilter's templates.  I've used the Dritz sheets from Joann's (I like the thicker ones)  and from Walmart, the EZ Quilting Extra Thick Template Plastic.  They come in a package of 5 and are just the right thickness.  They're frosted but you can see through them, just put your pattern under them and trace with a Sharpie.  Works great for me.  Also, because they are frosted, they don't slip around on the fabric so much.

I use a combination of Printshop 22 Deluxe by Broderbund and Microsoft's Digital Image Pro.  Printshop comes with a bajillion images.  I also search the web for free royalty free images.  I make sure they are royalty free just to avoid any problems.  Free doesn't always mean royalty free.   There are plenty of them out there.  Scrapbooking sites, even ones that sell images, usually have a few freebies.

Also, I have an external hard drive with 160 gigabytes of space to store all my images and videos. It would probably be cheaper to buy a built in one but I have a laptop.  Even though, you can get plenty of extra space for under $100.   I do a lot of video editing as I volunteer as an editor for our local access TV station (plus doing my own old home movies etc.) so I needed extra space.  Yep, don't gum up your computer with a lot of images, it really slows things down.
