Thanks, Sarahjane, you're right... What a nasty person. I forgot to mention to them that if they behaved that way, to please NOT buy my bears..... :)
Kimberly W.
Thank you Kelly, I recieved that link from another TTer and read through it. Smells very fishy to me. Also, thank you for the kind words; they really help! :)

Hello everyone,
I just got a nasty message from another ebayer about my Morris Mouse. Did I deserve this?? Please do tell me if any of you think I'm in the wrong!
I have omitted all names and put blanks in their place, although only one name was mentioned:
I went to your me page and you stated :My integrity as an artist is very important to me. but yet you stole another artists way of selling and idea, the story concept was brought to ebay by another establisted artist, ***********, she was the one who came up with idea and has used it for a very long time and also you copied her mouse idea, shame on you, **** is a really class act and doesn't deserve this. My wife is a big bear collector and would never bid on an artist the steals ideas, and I know she isn't alone, if you notice all artists that do well come up with original ideas.
I replied:
I am very sorry if you feel this way; I have no earthly clue as to who ********** is, nor have I ever even seen one of her auctions (that I know of). I think it is very unfair and rude of you to jump to conclusions about what you assume is a deliberate act of copying. I would like to ask you why I would state that my integrity is important and then (supposedly) blatantly copy someone else's work. Now don't you think that is about as silly as your accusation?
I am also very sorry that there is at least one person in this world that is ignorant enough to think that the idea of a mouse being on someone's countertop is copyrighted material and that no one else in the world is allowed to base an eBay auction on a fictitious story such as that. Forgive me for having an imagination that apparently is as winsome as ****'s. How about you take this into consideration: If **** feels that I have done anything malicious against her, then please let her 'fight her own battle' and contact me herself. I am almost certain that she would be a much more civilized person and learn the facts before brazenly accusing. Thank you so much for taking the time to get worked up about something that isn't even an issue.
I guess no one's allowed to make mice and tell stories about them???????
Kimberly W.
P.S. This is the exact same 'guy' who emailed another TTer about the same issue!!!!!
Hi Charlotte,
No, I don't mind sharing; his ears are made of ultrasuede, shaded with fabric markers and a little water...
Thank you, Sandi!
Kimberly W.
Jeannie,
I'll definitely take pic of both before I have to part with Joseph; great idea! I hadn't even thought about that!
Krista,
Well, he's my first mouse, but I have made a little bear already, too that is truly my first... so I can't use that excuse... lol
I think I'll be listing him this evening.
Kimberly W.
Thanks, you two! Part of me wants to list him and see how he does, and then part of me says, "You have to keep this little guy!"
Gail,
lol, that was part of the idea behind making him; I was kind of inspired by a story that Steph of Sassy Bears told me about a mouse she kept 'running into'. This little guy could hang out in my kitchen all day! lol
Kimberly W.
Oh, by the way, he was kind of inspired by Stephanie of Sassy Bears and her story about a little mouse she kept 'running across'!
Kimberly W.
Thanks you guys! I'm blushing over here! No, he doesn't eat shoes... or boxes... or make beds out of chewed out pieces of your clothes, he prefers polymer clay cheese! :)
Daphne, I sewed the ears in (more like tacked then in with thread the same way eyes on mini's are done) then felted a little around the base of the ear just to give it a little more uniformity. Is that a word? lol
Kimberly W.
Hi all, well I've spent the last few days working on Morris; this needlefelting can get addictive!! I've never really done needlefelting before (I've done 1 bear and accents on Joseph, my Jaguar in 'Bears and Friends') & This little guy has really grown on me! Now I have to decide if I can part with him or not! :)
Kimberly W.
Well, please meet Morris! I spent the last few days needlefelting this little guy, and he's really grown on me. Now I'm having a hard time deciding whether to list him or not.... :)
I'm also going to list Morris in Showcase for those of us who don't really browse the needlefelting forum.
Kimberly W.
WONDERFUL, Krista! She's completely darling! Such a sweet face, and yes I was following the other post. I think she's turned out perfect!
Kimberly W.
Sue Ann,
Will you be at the Indianapolis Show? If you'd rather not say, that's OK... I was just wondering if I'd be meeting you in person there... :)
Kimberly W.
Oooo, Daph I'm going to join this one! Whatever the deadline, June 30th, July 30th, I'll try to get something done.... But yes, it sounds really fun!
Kimberly W.
Wow, I have to say this: This post has inspired me to completely revamp my method of pattern storage - piling an unnamed pattern made from tracing paper on top of my cabinet and grabbing it when I need it. No wonder I spend half an hour trying to sort through 3 different bear patterns all piled up together and unnamed... every time I want to make a bear!
Now the babies (mini's) are a different story. Each one is cut out of that heavy plastic paper (I assume is vellum; I bought it from Sassy Bears) and each is put away into a small craft ziploc bag then into it's own labeled drawer in one of those plastic things that have about 100 drawers; I can't think of what it's called right now.
I am learning!
Kimberly W.
Oh my goodness, WOW! I haven't seen one of your roosters yet, so this is a first for me. He's awesome! I like him either way, but the base is really pretty!
Hey, will you be at the Indianapolis Show?
Kimberly W.
OMGosh! Aleta, your mouse is SOOOO cute! It made me smile!
Gina, what a fuzzy little bumpkin! TOO darling!! By the way, After all the riff raff I got your bear in the mail just recently! I told myself I was going to post pics this weekend (I've been reeeeaaally busy) so I'll get pics in tonight! Thank you!
I have one head done; I'm doing a pair, one for each of my daughters since they are always asking me when I'm going to make THEM a bear... lol! And since we can't sell these.... :)
Kimberly W.
LOL, Nox was listed on eBay, but I will get a few pics of my own and post them for ya
Just give me a little time! lol
Kimberly W.
I HAVE to post! I received Nox from Marion (Acid Attic Bears) in the mail today!! For those of you who have not experienced one of her bears; there is truly a deep, heart-touching feeling you get when you hold one in your hands. Nox is, for some reason, a very nostalgic and personal bear. He is worth every penny and then some, that I paid for him. Marion makes WONDERFUL bears. Lovely as can be!
Thank you Marion, for making such lovely bears; I am so lucky!!
Kimberly W.
Ok, I got pics in! Here is one also of him in my hand, because I think he looks bigger than he really is! Perfect size for my hand!
OK, I think I have gotten my good laugh of the day reading this post.
You all crack me up! Wool, murder silk, peace silk, tree huggers, sheep with heat stroke... it's all too much! ha! Now we need to make a good cartoon with sheep complaining of heatstroke in the middle of the summer, ready to wrap the PETA people in silk cocoons and submerge THEM in boiling water. i wonder if the grass would scream.
I'm all for being kind to animals, after all I have two dogs, fish out the yin yang, two kids and a husband.... but it's going a bit to the extreme when you start fighting for silly rights such as sheep's wool or captive bred birds. Ever hear that one? I wrote a college paper on that one....
Kimberly W.
Oooo oooo oooo! Now I'm going to for sure jump in on this challenge! How fun!
(Although I thought it was going to be an 'any old mouse' challenge; I just started a needlefelted one! lol)
But I'm excited!
Kimberly W.
Oooo Judi, I think he's WONDERFUL!
'Trevor' was what I thought of first when i saw him....
