Krista, he is terrific, I love his blue eyes and his fringe sets his eyes off so wonderfully..
Wow.....
My first experiance at selling my bears was at a local craft market. Unfortunately I was too nervous the morning of the market, in fact I was crying and felt really awful so dear hubby took them to the market, set up the stall and he sold 5 bears.
I stayed home and answered his phonecall each time he sold one.
I am fine now, and my idea is that I am offering my bears to who so ever may like to own one.
Most times I think the bear chooses the owner.....
Hayley, will look out for you too. Will be bringing the camera as I have a personal challenge of meeting as many bear friends from online chatting as possible.
So far I have met Taralee Teds, Real Deal Bears, kpbears, and Kimba from New Zealand.
Will also bring some $$$ as you never know what I may find.. See you then.
Chris, I will be there at the show to cheer you on, quietly of course..
The one bear of mine that comes to mind is a jester and poupard I made about 12 months ago. Couldn't stop looking at it sitting on the side board so therefore I ended up with a crick in my neck.
When I conceived the idea and then started putting it together everything seemed to go just right.
Am waiting for that same feeling to hit me again...... soon I hope.....
This is an example of my first photographic attempt.
I have a piece of brown velvet which I peg to my curtains in our family room. I have the camera set on "p" so that the flash does not work. The only drama is I have to wait for a sunny day as I haven't got any special lights to use.
Next time I set it up will post a picture of " my photographic studio"
One has to make do with what one has.....
I am in for it too, and I like the idea of an exchange...
How peaceful and tranquil. My view is my garden which I have previously posted in "what else do you do". Being Sprng in Australia now, it is a great time of the year for outside colour.
Cheers Denise.
Am so interested in this needlefelting. I have just finished my first bear and know I have a long way to go. Here a couple of snaps but remember it is my first one and I have lots of improvements to learn..
My personal opinion is that the best "award" is from the person that purchases your bear and you can see that they are really pleased with it. That pleases me the most..
Oh, one day I hope to get to this level of needlefelting. Am still practising. Starting to get proper shapes instead of flat circles....
Mikki, your polar family are fantastic. I just love pandas and polars. I just want to cuddle them..
Spring is a wonderful time in the garden... That white weeping thing is a Wisteria.
The little white 4 legged canine is our 16 year old maltese cross Tuppence..
My son-in-law gave the Wisteria to me as a cuttingabout 7 years ago and the perfume at night in the backyard is devine.
Sorry to hear about the rashes and sneezes..
The body tells me when I have done too much gardening but yes to sit outside of an afternoon with a white or maybe a red is very satisfying.
Troubles do melt away and just happy thoughts drift in...
Well, Christmas came early for me today. Kristas parcel arrived here in Australia and am I enspired.
Lots of wonderful things, buttons, trim, mohair the list goes on.
Thanks so much Krista, I am going to be a very busy girl for awhile.
Wow, what a talented bunch you all are.
I have dabbled in a few things crafty, quilts,cross-stitch but I mostly love my garden. After bears of course.
Here a couple of pics of the front and back yards.
Lots of best wishes coming your way...
Branson and Kelly are great, it is addictive this bear making.
I have changed my pics of Scotia who now has a mouth. Does any one else have trouble getting the angle right on the camera. If I get a good shot of the mouth the eyes disappear.
I am happier with him now he has a mouth, what do you think...scroll up..
That fox is simply awesome.
I have changed the look of Scotia in the last couple of hours. He now has a mouth, will post a pic tomorrow....
Well, I finished the synthetic challenge.
I think I am happy with it, a bit different to what I normally do.
Here is Scotia the polar bear. Made from a synthetic fabric that has a short fur pile with little waves through it. He is 10" (28cm) from head to foot pad and he is filled with fibre fill and some plastic pellets to give him weight.
I did some needle-felting on his feet and his eyes are german glass eyes.
He has a double neck joint and around this he wears a handknitted faux fur scarf.
Hope you like him...
Thanks Patty, I have also ordered some more colours of fibre from Beary cheap in the pastel to bright shades.
I have also used some needlefelting in the synthetic challenge that is currently on the forum.
Fun and stress at the same time as I am certainly challenged by what I am attempting..
I am half way through my new challenge which is with a new synthetic and a new pattern and some new tecniques.....having fun as well as a bit of stress as it is completely new..
What a great idea and heaps of thanks Sus Ann for allowing this to happen,
I am sure lots will go for this challenge..
I am so excited, Sebastian is off to live in the USA. He was spotted on TT by his new Mum.
He will be setting of to his new home at the end of this week.
Thanks so much Nancy, I am determined to have a go at this needlefelting, I have seen such gorgous little critters made and in all sorts of colours. I will certainly appreciate your help when we get back home...
