Like Clare I too have made a bear from a coat belonging to someone special - it was my Dad's old "donkey jacket".
The bear in question is aged to look, well older than the donkey jacket - and he has pads made out of 1930's rexin. "Norman" also sports a kharki jumper and my Dad's Normandy Veterans Badge.
He is actually Norman the Second - Norman the First was given to Emma as a reminder of her Grandad.
Dad died in 1997 and the coat hang in my craft room for about two years.

I don't pin my bears at all - I just "oversew" them then either handsew or machine sew.

Thanks Sue!
That one has a really "puggy" face. I am sure if I got that pattern I could use the head and make a jointed body for it.
Thanks again.
Could one of you more technical girls (and guys!) re-direct a post for me off of Collectors heading to General - regarding my meeting with Susan Mason today?
Don't now HOW I managed to do that!
Susan will be posting a picture of the sweet bear she made me - I know you will all want to see her.

A realistic pattern for a pug (or even a pekinese pattern that I could adapt?).
As some of you out their know I am Pug potty  and I would love to make a pug soft sculpture for myself. Jacky Wickenden did have a most marvelous black pug for sale at Hugglets last year, but I would like to see if I could do one myself.
Any help appreciated!

There are three other people all requesting A/L on that day in September.
If I miss it it will be the first one in 11 years

Hi Paula
Of course you can join in the next swap. Generally there is one organised at around Christmas time (an ornament swap) and I have done the Summer Swap for the last two years.

I think they are both GORGEOUS!
They are lovely. I have seen Laurie's work at Hugglets and photos don't do justice to how cute they really are.
I bought the EOS 450d - ufortunately it was a "flash in the pan" and has spent its life with me in an airtight container  .
Best of luck with yours though, Andrea.

Bless him - I saw him when he was just a leg didn't I Susan
What a SWEET panda - LOVE her
He is lovely - very traditional.
Don't worry Wubbie - you WILL get used to it  .
When I used to make bears as means of income I did get attached to some of them but once I started a new bear THAT one became my favourite.
Now I don't sell them at all - but the one I am working on is always my favorite! If you are making a bear for a friend the best approach is to do it knowing that THAT bear is not yours.

Ahh, he is very lovely!
Oh good, I really am glad you wasn't conned and you didn't pay much for him. Never mind!
It sounds as though you have been conned as I don't think Boyds came out till the mid eighties. If that is so I think that is appalling! At least Retro has a nice home.

I WAS going but have spent money on other craft items over the weekend - plus it is not easy to get up there now as we have to get a coach from Wycombe to Leamington Spa then Leamington Spa to Stratford. Never mind ... more money to spend at Hugglets  .
