Looks like some kind of scam to me...but I am a bit cynical. bear_rolleyes

I think that if something looks to good to be true than it probably is......Unfortunately there are some people who will be taken in by auctions like this. I people want to help other then there are other more legitimate ways of doing so.

sarahjane

Well I just had to go and have another look at your picture...are you sure that is you???  41 you say...grown children?  I wanna see the right picture..you know the one that looks like you are really 41.!!!  bear_cry

You look much younger than I do and I'm only 38....  bear_cry

Sending you best wishes for your eyes and hopefully you won't need an operation

sarahjane

I have used locknuts once or twice but have found that I prefer cotter pins for the size bear that I do (5 - 9 inches).

I feel that they are tight enough and like you have always used needle nosed pliers...that said I brought myself a cotter pin turner on the weekend so I'll let you know if that is better/easier.  bear_original

    Shelli I didn't know you could get superglue as a gel!! Thanks for that looks like a trip to the shops is in order   (obviously I don't get out much  bear_whistle  )

sarahjane

(I put a drop of superglue on them to stiffen them and adhere them to the eye.

Would someboddy please tell me how you manage a drop!!!    bear_angry

Peanut is a really cute bear.....I will try the Perle cotton on my next one....Thank you  bear_original

Hi...This question has probably been asked before, so if someone could point me in the right direction that would be fine.

I was wondering how many of you find your websites really worthwhile...and is it necessary for me to have a website up and running before I start selling on ebay?    Being almost a computer dunce I am having trouble creating a website and can't afford to pay someone to do it for me so I was thinking about starting on ebay (which is convenient and easy as I have some experience with ebay selling collectables etc) and looking at a website later.

I'd be interested in all opinions.....Thanks

sarahjane

Great work Deborah...these bears are fantastic!!!  bear_wub  bear_wub

For those of us who are uninitiated and still very new to bearmaking what does TBAI mean?

"wee bears running blind and screaming, right out of the studio! "

I'm not going to get that picture out of my head in a hurry!!!

sarahjane

OOhhh and I'll try the nail polish remover too (I can't believe I never thought of that  )

sarahjane

Thanks Shelli...I'll try it this way for a while and see of I find it any easier  bear_ermm   I think some of the problem is the 6 inch bear...I may have to try bigger bears  bear_grin

I've moved to a new eyelid technique to alleviate some of these issues and while it's also imperfect, it's much easier.  Having said that, I'm keeping this one to myself!

bear_cry  bear_cry  bear_cry

Only share it when its perfect OK!!!

Once again thanks so much for your help.  bear_original

I cna't believe you use pliers to flatten it...I use my teeth

sarahjane

Awww Shantelle I can sympathise with you it's sooo frustrating when that happens   just makes you want to kick the computer across the room!!!

sarahjane

  That's wonderful news Tracy...I can relate to your fathers predicament as my dad was laid off at 53 and had a terrible time trying to find work again!!!

It's so good to hear some good news!!!

sarahjane

I have been watching ebay for a while now trying to get up the courage to have another try at selling again, and I had noticed that it seems to be getting busier again.....is this right or is it busy for only a few of you?

Shantelle and Tracy I'm sure it will pick up again soon just keep doing what you are doing

sarahjane

Wow fantastic...TWINS... a double blessing...Congatulations!!!  bear_original

sarahjane

I use doll needles that you use for button jointing, and don't have any problems with holes or anything...my main problem is with the glue, I don't seem to be able to manage touches, more like great big globs...  bear_wacko

sarahjane

ooops I didn't know you were supposed to put glue on the cord first...I usually put the eyelid in place then drip the glue on...maybe thats what I'm doing wrong?   bear_rolleyes

sarahjane

I have been using cord for eyelids on my bears and have been using super glue to glue them, but I was wondering if there is a better way as the superglue leaves a milky film on the eye and it is a pain having to scratch that off, (I use a toothpick for that!).

No matter how hard I try I can't seem to glue the eyelids without getting some on the eye

sarahjane

WOW awesome bear and picture.... you are both very talented!!!
