the lies, the lies, my nose is very long (or it should be)
I now have enough fur to make about 15 bears and I have only just started, little does he know ha ha
I would have to go with
1 Embroidered noses -to scared to try my first one, I know I have to
2 Making your bear stand -that is so hard
3 Sculpted toes -can't seem to get that one -wrinkles or what
4 How to market your bears the best possible way -I find this area frustrating
I think that at this stage I would be tempted on just about any class
Ps and of course the best way to get home first to hide mohair purchases and where to hide them
Hi Jenn, 17 years ago we hit a badly maintained tree that had just fallen, a few seconds later and it would have landed on the roof, the car was smashed front, back and all the sides as it wrapped itself around us. I thought god was shinning on us as we only had a few scratches and I was literally laid in the front passenger seat after it happened good job really as a branch had dented the roof in to only 2 inches above my laid down head, but Oh I thanked god we were ok. Ok moving on about 6 years and my husband starts to suffer neck pain which spreads up over his head, after 2 years of suffering the doctor asked if we had ever been in a car accident and upon our reply he said my husband had developed arthritis in his neck due to whiplash, I now suffer neck pain also. So please when claiming on your insurance remember to ask about physio etc, see your doctors as it sounds as if you have a hurt your head/neck or spine.
So sorry to be the voice of doom but one never think of the long term effects, ones just grateful to be ok
I hope that both of you are ok for now and the future
Love Sue
Ps I still hate windy days, trees, being a passenger and sharp bends
Hi Marlys, I too have used paypal for 2 years (no problems-touch wood) I have both bought and sold using it, although everyone at work is very kind to point out the horrors, I remove my money asap or more likely hubby wants something so I end up buying. The website I have to admit looked bad until I saw the bit at the bottom
It actually turns out to be an advert for a free credit card terminal, I didn't read it and it could be genuine but why call paypal just to advertise your free product surely there is no need for that!!!!!
I would have to read the small print very carefully
Just my opinion, it could well be a great deal but life has taught me to be very cautious of everything
Hi Tina, I bought a bear pattern with pulled toes included from ebay(about 4 months ago), I keep reading it again and again and have not quite got it yet in my head. I am a bit naughty I try to visualise how it will work instead of just trying it
He looks lovely, I bought a Nioka pattern just for the toes but I have not had the courage yet!!??
Yours look fantastic
Hi everyone again, I so agree with you all, reading the post made me feel that I was not alone or insane, I hope you don't feel alone still Chloe, the times just lately I have said how tired I am and hubby says put that bl@@dy bear down then, I have vowed to only make 1 bear at a time otherwise I know like Laurie that I would have loads unmade (don't know how long I will be able to keep that resolution).
I have decided that I will have to allot time to all my activities (I am also doing an interior design course!!!!)
I think that alot of the time bear making is seen as a hobby and really it is a business -please don't shoot me-but we all do accounts (if we sell our creations), we market our bears, design website, bear designers, we retail our bears, we are buyers, some of us are teachers (advise giving on this site), we are dispatchers, customer services and all this and we make them as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All this and we have jobs, are mothers, wives, skivvies, forward planners, chauffers, cooks etc etc etc
God its no wonder time is short, but after all that we are the people who get things done, we are the ones people turn to when in trouble, we are what makes this world go round (rambling)
And I don't know about you but I want to live forever, see evrything and do almost everything (well legal stuff anyway and as long as speed is not involved  )
I will shut up now
Hi Chloe, i am the same, the doctor suggested a craft hobby for stress but i sometimes wonder if it was a good idea as the other sunday in sainsburys i was crying while walking round, hubby asked what on earth was the matter and i replied "i just have so many ideas for bears, i have not enough time to do them all and everything (normal work, housework, shopping etc) is getting in the way and now i have a headache", need i say he just looked at me and called me a silly cow and to chill out. do you get irritated when you can't get on and some thing comes up to stop the bear making because i do, i keep telling myself that if that is how all bear makers feel then hopefully one day bears will be admired and be as good as everyone elses
ps:my daughter thinks your bears are groovy and fab, your last one with skulls rocks, told her sh will have to save pocket money!!
Oh you do make me laugh, it had got me griped right to the end
What a lovely bear but that hat is just fab, if you don't mind me asking what did you use to stiffen the peak as I had thought of making one but was not sure what to use
 what stunning colours, I don't normaly like yellow but it reminds of those wonderful sweets you used to be able to get, can't remember their name but very very scumptious, just like your bear
What a beautiful story, the tears are just rolling down, can't stop them
I was thinking I'm glad England has only a small gun contingent, rural Lincolnshire seems very safe, although Patricia would probably get arrested here and prosecuted!!!
My vote would also go to Patricia
Hi everyone, I think that you must be brave to list at $1, I think I would find that just too nerve wracking.
I have found it very difficult to find the right price to list at, due to me being relatively new at selling them, in the end I went with the costs, I can't afford to take a loss, not that I am saying any of us can, him indoors would go nuts if I listed at $1 due to him having no concept of how it feels to make a bear that someone wants to own or how personally you take it if you have no interest. He thinks I heading for second childhood
Anyway I do think that it generates interest though and I have read some very interesting posts on pricing and everyones different ways, I suppose that its just trial and error at the end of the day
Now where is my paint brush!!!!!!only joking
she looks so sorry for herself it brings a tear to my eye, but I am so glad that she is out of danger and on the mend, its a good sign she is fed up with the collar

What a lovely idea, add me to the list too please
I have too, and I keep scaning all the posts just incase I have missed you
Hi, I would be interested to know about coiled eyes, I saw them on glasseyes.com (see earlier post) I wondered how they work, I had thought that you kind of screwed them in but now I'm not so sure????
anyone help!!!!
Dear Ellen, I don't think that you need to be defensive, its what you believe and I admire that
I truely understand, 2 years ago I developed migraines, I thought it was my age etc (early womans things), eventaully 4 months ago I could not stand it any longer, I was ill every weekend and they had started to last longer than 3 days so I went to my doctor. He said I had long term stress and my only options were to give up work or take heroin!!his words not mine. I have been left with permenant headaches. Anyway (trying not to ramble) I decided there must be something I could do, making something and walking the dog seemed the answer, so here I am.
It seems to me that these pint sized bundles are so much more than bits of material, so many of us on this site have ailments of some kind and bears are helping them deal with life, maybe that is why ebay is such a hot topic because we all want the same thing, to sell our bears to people who will love them as much as we do and what works for one does not work for others
Hi Lynette, I am so glad to hear she is holding her own, she is very cute but looks a tough cookie as well.
My life has had too many ups and downs as well so I understand where you are coming from
Lots of Love and thoughts from across the water
Bobbie
Ps I work for a firm of accountants, very organised, my house is a mess though
Oh how awful, I will say a prayer and hope that she recovers

Sorry I did my cutting out that way too
Georgeous picci, adorable no wonder you want to make one
Me did too  , me did too
Slobad Guardians       love it
Edie, I think that maybe that is the key to using it as advertising, list once or twice at the most and let the bidders assume that you have sold the bear elsewhere, what a great idea. I think if my bears does not sell then I will remove on to a website (yet to be contructed  )
I have to admit I have not noticed if jewellry has not sold if I am not interested in that piece, I only watch the ones I am interested in and mostly I am then the buyer or someone out bids me with 10 seconds to go, but jewellry is a huge section, I suppose the bear catagory is so much smaller
Karen, you are so right it is the thrill of the chase and us bargain queens like to get a good deal (not something for nothing) but feel that you have got the item slightly less than the shop prices (it also helps in justification to the other half if it was cheaper) "but it was only.............." I like the idea of doing pieces just for ebay, specials, but at the moment I am so new I don't have that many (2 actually  )
