Oh Paula, he is just sensational. I am lucky enough to own one of Paula's big laughing bears, and he is my pride and joy. He came all the way from England to Australia all on his own (what a brave boy) and he was still smiling when he got here. It is such a delight everytime I walk into the room to have this gorgeous big happy face smiling at me. You can't help but give him a hug every so often.
Paula's bears are just so beautifully made and have so much emotion in their faces. If you ever get the chance to get one, go for it. This new chap is wonderful - now does my chap need a brother??
Isn't it amazing what people will come up with. I only had a daughter, and so have never experienced the "in your face" problem. My daughter was such a wriggler when you changed her, that if she was a little boy, I don't think I would have ever kept one of those things in place.
The tricky thing with a girl was you could just finish changing her, go to pick her up, and without you realising it, she had done another little wee wee. Then you would start again!!!
My greatest achievement in life was when my daughter was toilet trained. Joy upon joy!!!!
Clare, aren't you a sweetie organising a picnic for the bears, I bet they had a wonderful time, and I bet you had fun as well. The sunshine looks so inviting. Here in Adelaide at the moment it is cold and very damp. We haven't had the really good rain that we desperately need, just that very fine rain that can really be a nuisance, because it just hangs around. I think all my bears would love to be invited over to your house for a special picnic as well.
Tammy, I'm an Aussie girl from "down under", and I just want to say a big thank you for risking life and limb (!!) for us all down here to be able to read the new tee shirt. What a girl you are!!!
Stephanie, Your little bears are just super. Perfect in every way. Look forward to seeing more.
Girls, these are so good. Tammy, I just loved the one about selecting a teddy from the bottom shelf. It just really cracked me up! Thanks.
I'm a brunette and I loved it!!!!!!!!
What a beautiful job you have done with Jeremiah. The needlefelting you girls do just amazes me. I especially love his paw pads and foot pads.
Celena, I have never made a mini before, and your words of joy in making them are really getting me inspired. I must give it a go. Minis look such a challenge to me as there is so little room for any errors! I really admire people who do them.
Teddies bring such comfort to all, especially the young, and this story truly shows this. The one thing we can all take heart in is that the teddy bears we make will never go out of fashion, and will always be loved, no matter how technologically advanced this crazy world gets.
A beautiful bear with a gorgeous choice of colour. That face is just so sweet. Love your photography.
I love the proportions on this new bear of yours - he looks so cute.
Packito is certainly a work of art. Such detail with the needlefelting, gosh, I can only imagine how many hours went into him. I also love the choice of mohair for his little body. Best of luck with the competition - I am sure he'll do well.
What gorgeous bears, and that face on Benny - just perfect. Their feet are sensational, you could put a pair of our Aussie thongs on those toes (I think you girls overseas call them flip flops). They would be a great accessory.
