I can post a couple more of tose sheets but you must understand that the sheets are full of helpful advice for me on some of my first bears as well so not too much laughinf about the comments  bear_grin
I'll get onto it today.

Tha sounds something like my dad would say.  I think Penny is right!

"Cover the figure with a soft, semi-transparent cloth and attach it in place with pins or putty.  Draw the outline of the shape onto the fabric.
Cover the cloth pattern with tracing paper  and transfer the pattern onto the paper where it can be properly sized and perfected.  measure the pattern to ensure that the pieces will fit together properly, especially in such areas as the tummy ans muzzle.  once you have finished your hard copy pattern, create a protottype bear from an inexpensive fabric to test your design."

This was taken directly fro 101 bears to make by Nancy Tillberg. She used it to create a lifelike bear.  I don't think I will be trying it any time soon though.

23 bears?!
Did she eat, or move away from her machine at all.  I think I am going to have to try and up my making to at least one a week.
I would possibly like to do a couple more shows and sales but that maybe pushing the friendship a bit. Small young children just are not bear friendly.

Cleathero Creations

Wow they are spectacular... I have lots of scraps but they are all different textures, lengths and types so I don't know whether I can put anything together with those.

Cleathero Creations

I am sure there are plenty out there who know what you are on about but I alot of it on me is useless.  bear_wacko   But if you had been talking about gussets and and needle sculpting a couple of years ago you would have had the same blank stare... so I know I can learn.   bear_grin

Cleathero Creations

So now the first one is out of the way she can go off and do a heap more.  bear_happy

Ah this is where being compulsive about trivial things comes in handy.
I keep a basic notebook covering materials used, name, size and date made so this is how I know.  Each time I finish one it gets jotted into the notebook.

Cleathero Creations

Allright I know how its done (thankyou Nancy Tillberg) but has anyone here done it and is it any good?  It seems like a lot of work, are the results any better?

Cleathero Creations

My bears usually look like some sort of mutant echidna when I start as I pin everything and use lots of them.  I start a pin at either end and one in the middle then work back from there.
Lots of pins, lots and lots pins.

Cleathero Creations

Yep something like that.  You can move the L desk to whereever you wish if you can get power in the floor.
glad you knew what I meant sometimes I really am not too clear on the ideas.

Cleathero Creations

Plushes usually are used for pricing reasons rather than any other reason.  They are quite safe to use with children as are mohairs.

Cleathero Creations

Ah yes i have seen her bears but didn't know her name.  I'm shocking like though.  The bear is whimsical and I love it.  It wuld bring a smile to my face every time.

Cleathero Creations

Do Panda have tails?
oh dear!
No I haven't made many bears with tails.  For some reason haven't even thought about it.  But they do look cute.

Cleathero Creations

That look gets you ecvery time doesn't it.  bear_rolleyes
I have a new kitten that although isn't really allowed in the house seems to manage to quite regularly.  bear_original
And she loves to lay on my fur or chase my hands while sewing.  Makes life difficult sometimes but when she purrs I am just putty in her hands.

Cleathero Creations

I love her stuff  bear_wub and not too long ago I found a picture of a bunny she did when started way back when and I was relieved to see that even she had to start somewhere and yes I do have hope that i may be as good as she one day. bear_thumb

Ok I posted this on the other board I frequent so here I go.
How many bears do you make in a week/month/year?

I was really ecstatic with myself when I made 28 bears last year.  I work, have 4 young children and try to have some sort of life but I was amazed and in awe to read that someone makes 3 a week.
HOW????

So it begets the question how many do you make, what size, why the number and if it is a large number how?

Cleathero Creations

Jenn I can't believe taht happened to you!! I really want to punch them for you.
I am involved in only two boards and they are both really lovely.  the other boards I have looked at haven't been as warm or friendly so I'll stick to the two of them.

Cleathero Creations

Yey,  If my bears don't sell then I know they are meant for someone special and when that person comes along I always know it and it feels so good.

Cleathero Creations

I'm curious about that too.  haven't quite figured out how it works properly  To me it would just get in the wqay and cause more bulk.

Cleathero Creations

i don't mind either the 2 or 4 body although I do have a tendency towards 2 piece.  I thinl it depends on the look I am after.

Cleathero Creations

Ummm definately lost me there but if someone does a program for me I would be thrilled.

Cleathero Creations

Good luck with the contest he truly is lovely and with the work that went in he deserves to win.
His lovely soul shows in his face.
