I like your quirky style. I would say you are ready to sell them, really, you've done a great job. Etsy or ebay, go for it! I just went to your Blog but could'nt work out how to comment on them, they are worth a lovely comment.

Amanda

Ebay have got it sussed. Get us to offer free shipping, which we pay out of the sale of the bear or whatever, but they get fees from the whole amount, shipping included. I sure don't want them getting even a penny more than they already do. Its a mine field. We only really have Royal Mail, although we do have a few other carriers. That flat rate box system sounds great.

Amanda

I loved the whole look too. The colours work very well and the style really suits your work. Can I be added too?
Amanda http://pandypotter.blogspot.com/ you are already on mine.

I know what you mean about it being easier to keep the Blog going. I've now linked my website to the Blog pages for Gallery, sales etc, so much easier on the Blog.

1logo.jpgaa1.jpgHi everyone. There are one or two who don't have photo editing software and need banners. This site will get you making some simple logos and banners, very easy right click, save to computer.

http://www.grsites.com/generate/category/1/

You can make loads of other things too. I made a heading to match my Blog pages. You can resize them to fit. I use photofiltre that you can download for free.

Hope this helps!

Amanda

aqq.jpg1logo.jpgaa1.jpgOk hardly cutting edge but anyone want a logo/name banner? Go here, very easy to do. http://www.grsites.com/generate/category/1/

Just choose your style, size, colours lots of options. It then generates the image, right click save to computer and you're off. You can resize it if not right in any editing place. I use this one to do my photos, free, of course. bear_grin Photofiltre.

Enjoy, heres my simple header/banners. The top one matches my current Blog pages. I saved the backgrounds of the Blog, opened in photofiltre and used the the tool to extract the colour codes which you can then use in the grsites. Matching coloured logo/banners!

Amanda

Hi Peggy. Yes just start up some new blogs. Then link off them.

My Blog is now a three column one. I had to change some of the code, hard work, but worth it. http://tips-for-new-bloggers.blogspot.c … plate.html So I can put gadgets either side. If you do change the code, take your time and save the original, not the easiest thing to do.

Amanda

Hiya. Just click on my Blog then click Gallery at the top side. That what you're after? I just have three blog accounts. Main page, gallery and for sale. Then just put the links on. Keeps it the same kind of pages, easy to update. I wanted a mini website. I have a website, but I'm lazy so the website Gallery etc just links to these pages. Just email if you need any more help, I'll be in later, when you are up.

Amanda

Oh Paula you've done us proud! Thank you   I think I've linked right, off to blog around, already found someone I did'nt know about. Yippeeeee....

Amanda

What a lovely follow up photo. I've heard a couple of heart rendering stories about local children recently, I won't go into details, but when I heard them it was awful to thing of these things happening to people. So nice to think things can work out. Give her a big TT kiss from us all. bear_wub

Amanda

Why not. I've listed a bear on ebay that did'nt sell before christmas, I've reduced it. Well its a bit of an annoying one as it did sell, the person never bothered to contact me until I contacted them weeks later, non payment, even if there were good reasons. I could have sold it if they had let me know earlier. So.....thats off my chest  bear_rolleyes I've put it back on cheaper. So, I'll not get as much as before, but it pays for ebay fees and new fabric. New fabric that has been made into new bears, that have sold for a good price. Its all for the good in the end.

I've sold bears for prices that probably just cover cost, not time, but it all gets you out there, things moving on. Its really a personal thing, if you are starting out, you've no customers to annoy by reducing prices, just new collectors to sell to! Each to their own, but I think its a good idea.

Amanda

All the best Patsy, everything crossed for your little miracle.

Amanda

Link away Sue, I've added yours.

Amanda

I saw the Creative Blogging one too, they do look good. Anyone know where to get them from in the UK?

Amanda

I don't collect bears but always loved Paddington. When I was pregnant I saw one of the Gabrielle ones while on holiday. I'd wanted one when I was little, but they were too expensive then. So I treated myself, excuse, 'for the baby'. Now I'd love to get a little flock, plastic one that was out in the late 70's. Again something I always wanted, never had. Not expensive but.....I'll keep looking on ebay.

As to making the dream bear. It would be, daft as it seems, a bear so special, I'd keep it! It would have to be very, very special as I don't collect them. Does that make sense?

Amanda

Me again! Just remembered this wonderful Blog.

http://theholidayqueen.blogspot.com/

Apart from being a great Blog.   She uses Google doc to have a sort of website attached, the right hand links. Could be something to think about, might try it myself.

Amanda

Great advice. I'm a very lazy blogger and website keeper. I don't make resolutions but that should be one really. I recently overhauled my Blog, very easy and it does make me want to use it more.

Amanda

You really deserve to do well. Been a bit hectic myself, where does the time go? Naughty you with the old pressie, did you nip next door for the Volvo? bear_tongue  I agree about 'credit crunch,' times are hard, but not for every person. I've friends who have lost their jobs but luckily found other ones.

Amanda

Thanks everyone. It was just signed for when delivered, tracked up until it was in the US. With hindsight I wish I'd sent it Airsure, more expensive but you can track it every step of the way. You do feel for the collector, but its in other peoples hands, that makes it more annoying. I hope she understands, she is very good about it all. She checked her PO but they just said ask me for a time scale. Luckily I posted a little extra present for her, must have known I'd have some trouble. bear_rolleyes Still, theres time yet!

Amanda

I everyone. I posted a bear on 9th December from the UK to the USA (I used international signed for). The last posting day here was the 10th. In your experience will it get there in time for Christmas? My lovely customer is worried as its a Christmas present. I feel awful too. Nothing I can do but.....The tracking says its now in the hands of the US posties.

Amanda

As always so much fun. Merry christmas everyone!

Amanda

Hi Chris. A good place to start is to look at this website http://www.sassybearsandfabrics.com/ for all your fabrics etc. The Sassy longpile is fabulous and very easy to work with. A kit would be a good idea too. I pretty much make mine the same as the big ones, some do, some don't, but thats how I do them. I find having the right fabric, thin needles and the right thread helps a lot. Steph pretty much had everything you need and is very helpful.

Start there, then give us a shout when you need to know more. Its a learning curve, thats for sure.

Amanda

Merry Christmas Jane! Love the card.

Amanda

He is adorable. Wondeful photo. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas.
