oh my gosh!!!!! I am so jealous - she is lovely!!!!!  one of the dolls my sister has got (and wont part with) is the lavender version with slightly longer pig tails!
You have got a stunning doll there and as she is still in pristine condition and boxed she would go for a fortune on ebay!

oh thanks guys!  That has cheered me up loads... I was feeling a bit glum when I left and thought I must be doing the wrong thing.... I drowned my sorrows with a good curry in the evening! LOL

Pandora-2.jpgHi guys,
I was exhibiting at the fair and you just couldnt hear who won as the PA was not very good.
Also the fair didnt have a good turn out at all - we think everyone was down at the beach, so it was very disapointing... especially for me as it was my first fair!  never mind....

We were told that the results willl be confirmed on their website:
http://www.brewinsbruins.co.uk/home/the … wards-2010

I expect that they will up date their website today with all the info... but I didn't win in my category, I entered this little girl called Pandora.......

TreacleBears

my sisters where bought one each when they were little... and also cabbage patch kids!  I was a little bit too old for a My Child then - but I want one now!  The thing is the two that my sisters were bought I know are up in my Mums loft but aparently they still want them! doh!
I might have to do some persuading to my sisters that they dont want them anymore and give them to me to customise!!!!!
the one I have pictured above is what someone has customised and they want a lot of money for her!
I want one to sit with my Treacle Bears... look cute and perhaps bring her out to fairs to sit with my bears as well.......... I think it would be a gorgeous touch!

TreacleBears

mychild.jpgI know this is on a completely different subject.
But I am looking for a My Child Doll.... I hope a lot of you know what one of these are...
If anyone has got one tucked away somewhere and is unwanted I would be interested in her.
Hope to hear from you....
Nicky

I use the professional copic art pens with the shader pen - they work brilliantly.  I have also used make up for added shading, a bit of brown or black eyeshadow and a bright pink blusher... just softens the edges and builds up the colour a little.

TreacleBears

thanks guys for the great advice!  Well I think we are sorted, Bear Pile it is then!

TreacleBears

thanks guys for all your tips!!!!

TreacleBears

hmmmm, ok. I think I will try it, expecially if it gives good exposure, as paying $10 a month is worth its weight in gold for marketing purposes..... its just getting people to know that you are here!

TreacleBears

Hey everyone!
I am thinking of putting some of my bears on Bear Pile for adoption.
I would love to hear what people think of Bear Pile.  Usually I put my bears on ebay but I was thinking on trying Bear Pile.  What does everyone think?
Love to hear from you all soon.

TreacleBears

this little boy is so cute!  Hope you dont mind me asking but where did you get the fabric for him from?  I am trying to source some like this?
Also, I was thinking on putting my bears on Bear Pile would you recommend this site?
xxxxx

TreacleBears

oh my gosh! how do you create such a work of art!  very gifted!

TreacleBears

She is a great 'cuddle' bear and I want to do more in this style, as I always remember as a child wanting a bear to cuddle, so this size of bear is perfect.  Going to tweak the pattern a bit more and will start creating after the fair.....

and Ali, I will defo be taking lots of pictures at the fair of my table.  I have mocked it up a few times on the dinning room table to get the look I'm after, going to do another in next few days for the final tweaks and then tags tied to bears, spruce them up and we are ready to go!

TreacleBears

thanks again guys for all your help and advice.  the 'benders' as we used to call the hair curlers as kids are a great idea!  I think I may have some somewhere!  If not down to superdrug to give them a try.  great as they are already covered in a protective layer.  I will see if they are man enough for the job.

Pandora-2.jpgPandora.jpgThis is Pandora that I finished at the weekend for the Brewins' Bruins Fair that I am attending on Saturday 22 May in Minstead, Nr Lyndhurst, Hampshire (in the heart of the New Forest).........
She is the biggest bear that I have made so far measuring at approx 16" and I am really pleased how she has come out...

TreacleBears

Thanks guys for all the tips.  the link to woodlandteddies is perfect!!!!  why didnt I think of that.  very simple to do.  will get some wire etc. and give it a go!
xxx

TreacleBears

yes quite right, I want them to bend easily and also dont want the wire to pop out or fray the fabric in anyway.....

TreacleBears

thank you for the advice...... I will have a play.  I dont think pipecleaners will be man enough for the job as I am planning on making quite a big bear..... but jewellery wire might, perhaps I'll have a look and garden wire.... hmmmmm
