Congratulations Judi - I have goose bumps thinking how you must feel today! Well deserved
Wow! Great ideas everyone! Thank you, thank you, thank you! This is just what I needed, I am going to try the various ways and see the outcome... I'll keep you posted and take a picture when he is done. Just the ears and a tail to go, well, and a nose too!
Thanks! Duff
Nancy - wonderful little mousie you have there
Funny thing about bear (or mice) it is all in the eye of the beholder, I see many bears that are drop dead gorgeous then I see bears that have so much personality and find then just as wonderful! I was looking through posts yeaterday and saw the one about 1st bears, they were all to die for cute! Something about each face. I suppose that is what is so fun about bears! They all have a place in bear world!
Ooh, Pictures! I see why you all lov-em! Worth a thousand words
Great mouse! I get the idea, I guess I was worried beacuse the tail is ultra suede... I think this will work!
thanks so much!
Kim-Bee,
How thick was the wire you used?
I thought about something close (did not think of the glue) but using a chenille stem... I suppose I would close it just like the back of a bear, trying to hide the seam? Interesting idea, Thanks!

Hello to All,
I need a bit of help. I have a little mouse (about 3 inches) I am working on and I am struggling with the tail. Too small to turn and I have no idea how to tackle it! Does anyone have any suggestions? I see many other small mice but can not figure out how they have done the tail(s)?
Thank you!
Ok, I am in awe! To think that I could get such wonderful comments from such an amazing group! Thank you for the kind words. Who knew it would take me so long to find this little piece of heaven! Over in my neck of the woods, I have not even met another bear maker! To think, you are all here! I hope some day to make it to the ebay world, but for now I will practice away!
Now I am at a cross road, do I sew, do I surf the posts, do I dye fabric, do I practice toes, make patterns.. oops, I still need a police hat...
Again, Thank you for the support I am glad I made my way here!
Hello! I got the nerve up and posted for the 1st time today (in the new member area). Although I have been lurking around for awhile now. Thank you for the warm welcome!
For the most part I am a closet bear maker so this will be the 1st time I have shared any pictures of a few of my little guys! these two have yet to tell me their names... quite shy so far! The little brown bear calmed down quite a bit when his friend joined him in the photoshoot. The other guy is on his way to becoming a little police bear. He now is in need of a police hat and a badge.
As you can see I need to work on the photo aspect of this and today learned lesson number 1#: remove all dog fur from the bears as well as the backdrop. Amazing what you don't see in a camera lense, but stands out like a sore thumb in a photo!
Again, thank you for the warm welcome and I can't wait to learn more and spend more time with you all! I can see how this can be addicting!
