  Oh what a wonderful Panda! I have no idea about his providence but boy he has lots of appeal that can only come from a great design and of course years of loving

Oh my he is so realistic! Those eyes are so full of life! The head shape is spot on and the way you have captured the eyebrows framing his eyes is fantastic. The shading and shaping of his muzzle amazing. Then we get on to the perfectly proportioned body and even the toenails just peeping out enough over the pads shows how much attention to detail you have worked into Copernicus. The time, patience and commitment to excellence is evident. You must be so proud of him Francy

I have an old book also describing this method and tried it once but like you suggested didn't like the bulk it created under the joint. I adapted it by using thin strong calico ie I glued a circle of fabric to the underside of the disc and then gathered/stuffed to a ballish shape after inserting the cotter pin through the disc and fabric and tucked the gathered calico neck into the ball and stitched over to avoid a lump. I wanted some nice round fat shoulders. It did work but it meant leaving a large opening in the arms to get the added bulk through the gap so more ladder stitching up afterwards. It was a bit faffy stuffing too which is why I did n't do it again Joanne's methods sound much easier!

Oh yes Jen two very lovely big bears indeed. You just can't beat the charm of a traditional bear. A gorgeous pair I love the way you have given them big soft ears!
