Hey Guys
thankyou for all your supportive CONGRATS, i am still getting over the shock. No Peter its not for a wedding (but i would love to make your bears if you have a wedding) its for a large family gathering, here in Portugal, and i have a free rein on design only the sizes have been stated so i have my note book with me writing ideas and thoughts down and new designs. As for wine and biscuits definately the wine and lucky the wine is so cheap here lol.
big thanks again for your support and lovely comments
big hugs Susan xxx
just wanted to let you all know that i have just received my first commision for 25 bears ranging from 5 to 7 inches all ooak, what a perfect end to the day. i wanted to share this with all of you, because of your help and support i am where i am today, so once again to everyone
A BIG HUG & THANKYOU

Susan
here here i seam to spend loads of time looking at these bears and then heading off to the owners website and lose track of time.
oh well what a perfect way to escape xxxxx
i agree with Paula, i have been making bears for over 2 years now and have tried to pluck up the courage to enter competitions which i know are important to push your name, but with so many amazing artists it is scary, also the price is off putting especially as the economy is bad i am reluntant to spend money on competitions when i can be using it to buy more material or advertise in other places.
more categories would be great and i love to always go and vote and once again it is difficult to choose when so many bears or other animals are put together.

thanks for the tips guys, we have finely got charity shops here now so i'm off to have a look tomorrow.
i will look at that site in germany to thanks Maria.
And Julia you have just made my day i have just joined a new group here of expats that make things and we are hopping to do lots of craft fairs and even looking at opening a shop and dividing the cost and amongst the group (30 of us now)we have lots of quilters so i am off to give them a call as i know they brought all there lovely fabrics from the uk to here ( as fabric shops are non-exsistant)
i also had another thought the portuguese are amazing at lace making and they hold classes near me so i am going to see if they see their lace.
once again big thankyou i new you would have some idea
big hugs Susan x
i think he's great i do love your old bears
hi guys
i have been looking on the net (feels like forever) then i thought the best people to ask are you.
does anyone know of any good fabric places (in europe outside costs me a fortune in customs coming into portugal)
i want to make some old looking vintage style clothes, with pretty small print etc you know what i mean and also lace maybe i can make little outfit from that.
another project i have meant to do and this year i am going to do it. i see so many beautiful clothes on teddies and want to have a go. i have done the odd dress but i need to spend more time on this,
thanks for reading guys hope someone can help
big hugs

sorry have to comment, that one was excellent gave me a good chuckle x
love those legs sarah lol he's a sweetie
LETS HAVE A SWAP AND CHEER US ALL UP !!!
thanks for your help, not sure what to do it asks for verification number before i can go any further so still stuck, why is it the simple things that are so confusing.
My bears are waiting to travel to Andrea, they all have itchy feet but it is so quiet. maybe we all need a cheerup, maybe we can come up with swap theme or something, that always makes you feel good making something for someone and knowing someone is doing the same.

ok i have tried to sell on ebay which i have tried a few times over the last couple of years, i get to completing my listing then it asks for a landline number which i have to use my sisters in the uk because i'm in the portugal and all my banks etc are listed to her address including paypal so shouldn't be a problem.
ok so i have a landline number in then its says it will call to give a verification number has everyone else done this???
i have asked people before and have been told no i have never put a number in.
so can anyone advise me, fill me in as i have sat here for a couple of hours doing this and i see lots of other people selling on ebay and i just wanted to have ago.
