Thanks...I know we talked about this before but for the life of me I can't seem to find that discussion...it must be buried underneath a bunch of fur :lol:
Now to decided which I want...it's so hard to choose...I keep looking and looking and looking....why can't I just have a yard of each...oh wait....that's right.... $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
I actually use that feature quite often...try to look before I ask...although I'm getting forgetful and sometimes ask, then look... :/
I might have seen it on the Edinburgh forum....I'll check there too. Thanks!!!
but....I can't seem to find the thread where someone recommended where to buy nice synthetic fur. Does anyone remember where that is? Or can they repeat the info...

Good question...I never did name the little guy...looks like a little boy to me that's just gotten caught doing something very naughty...has that..."who me" thing going. I'll have to think on a name.
Dilu...you are constantly outdoing yourself...he is adorable in a....well....learning experience kind of way. Good for you for trying something new and then sharing the results no matter how it turns out.
Hey...we were typing the same thing at the same time...how funny!!!
My thoughts and prayers are with all of those who are either in the path of ol' Katrina or who have friends and family there. I will keep everyone in my prayers today as I do everyday.

I completely agree with what Daphne said about seeking the advice of your health care professional. I find it interesting however that many if not most insurance policies DO NOT cover weight loss in their programs. They also do not cover most alternative medicines such as acupuncture....but yet will let me fill prescription after prescription for narcotics if I wanted them.
Incredible...:/
(sorry I'm ranting...)
so...what's the update girls. I don't watch nor own a TV so I can't keep up with what's going on locally even.
Keeping you in my prayers...
I wouldn't post my weight either...in fact I don't even have a scale because I'm in so much denial.
But seriously, I meant just as encouragement...you only have to share as much as you feel comfortable sharing just like any other aspect of your life. I personally did not like the whole "weigh in" thing with weight watchers...for me it felt fake. Praise if you lost a bunch...still praise if you didn't but now lets find out why...either way I hated it. So everyone is different...
Also, all this diet talk...I bought a container of Ben & Jerry's yesterday...well...it's already gone :)
Since so many people are working on losing weight or changing their eating habits to a more healthful one, perhaps it would be nice to start a "diet buddy" kind of thing. Just a place to check in with each other every so often and praise each other for their progress, give encouragement when you slip or whatever. It doesn't necessarily have to be everyday, every week...just periodically like you do with other REAL programs. You can share recipes that you like that are healthy or an exercise that you've started and find enjoyable since it sounds like most of us aren't really keen on the whole exercise thing. :):)
Just a thought!!!
Please take care the both of you...the winds can change so quickly...be safe and keep all of us posted!!!

I've struggled with weight issues my entire life it seems. Until the birth of my third child I was always on the thin side...I'd here..."don't you ever eat..." Yeah I did...anything and everything I wanted. Then along came my third and that all changed...he's 14 so I probably should stop blaming it all on him huh. I also tried the Adkins diet several years ago and it made me very ill. My electrolytes were all out of whack and my doctor told me to get off it immediately. I also multiple sclerosis in addition to my vision problems so it is very hard to adhere to a regular exercise routine no matter how simple it may be because, for me at least, extreme fatigue hits without warning many times. Also, exercise can trigger episodes of severe muscle spasms. I try very hard to walk on a treadmill every day...sometimes twice a day depending on how I'm feeling. I also try to do some type of yoga activity in order to keep my muscles stretched and toned...plus just the benefits of relaxation. This doesn't mean I don't try and stay active and just sit around. Everything that Judi and Shelli both posted is very true. I don't think you should look at eating as a "diet"...it has to be a lifestyle change because once you stop your "diet" then you just head back to where to you started...whether it be gradual or rapid.
So now I'm off to find a huge bowl of icecream... NOT!!! Icecream is my weakness...I just love the stuff...YUMMMMMMM!!
Thanks Dilu...so in otherwords you are just creating one big or tiny dreadlock!! It really just sounds like one more thing to cause myself some sort of bodily harm...not to mention financial
:) I have to poke myself on purpose enough...not sure I should even consider something else I might accidently poke myself with...those needles look kinda big.
Now I'm off to find this book and kit...
So I was feeling a little left out in the ol' avatar area and decided to see if I could manage to post one. Not that I have anything exciting to post and my poor little photo editing thing that came with my cheap little camera leaves much to be desired. But it worked but I can't make him any bigger...next size up is too big...go figure.
At least I feel like a big girl now...
That's goes for me too...
Love and Blessings and many well wishes that you are back to bear making in no time.
Bear Love to you...
I've not made enough bears to do anything yet but keep them  I have however donated a quilt...just last spring for a friend whose little neice (9 years old) had to have a liver transplant and they were doing a fundraiser to help with all the expenses. I also made a rag doll that went with it...her little outfit was out of the scraps from the quilt. It felt so wonderful donating it and knowing it went to a very good cause.
I feel like an incredible moron...but what exactly is felting. I see the finished product...I looked it up and saw the needles and the wool but what...what do you do to make the little critter...I don't get it
Perhaps it could be because I'm having one of those weeks...you know that kind where you wish you had just stayed in bed...
And Dilu, your bear is darling. I can hardly wait to see your Gollies...they will be spectacular!!!
So....it's true you do make bears....not that anyone doubted it. She adorable...I love all the embroidery work. Cute Cute Cute!!!
Yeah Kim...good for you girl. :)
And, Shelli dear...we all just admire how far you've come in such a short time and how generous you are in sharing your wisdom. I think that it's easy to turn to someone as a resource when they so openly share and show that kind of generosity. I know I find myself doing it. I admire your work not only as a bear artist but also the wonderful graphics you do. I can only hope to accomplish 1/2 of what you have in the short time you have done it. So.....stop being so humble It just makes it that much more difficult to be annoyed that your so stinkin smart.

Congrats to you Shelli,
It's an inspiration to see that you've come so far in such a short time. Good for you...I'm sure we'll see many more such wins in the near future.
Thanks so much Laura Lynn but I have to tell you I started cracking up laughing when I went to the lissaexplains.com site...it's "just for kids". I love it!!!
I've always picked this stuff fairly quickly. I use to be a "resource" at my job before I retired. I was always getting calls "Shantell, how do you do..." So I'm not sure why this is overwhelming me...guess because I've been away from it for so long.
I'm sure these will help alot of us newbies get started. And, I looked at your photos on Yahoo (the link you shared)...ooooh, they are so cute...I love there little faces!!!
Shantell
Beautiful as always....Jody, you lucky girl you!!!
Clear as mud...
I registered my domain name already through the site that Shelli had mentioned previously. I paid for three years so that I would have time to develop a webpage if and when that time came. This is VERY overwhelming to me for some reason. I guess because I don't know all the "lingo" or what to even begin to ask. :|:|
Thanks for the information...I've already been to Yahoo to check out there stuff.
