Hello fellow TTers, I need your thoughts and ideas on wiring/posability for a child-safe bear. Well, technically it's a skunk. My cousin has always had the nickname li'l' stinker as a kid, because she was always a mischief maker. My cousin is now having her own li'l' stinker, and I'm making her a skunk for the wee one to be. I want to have it so your able to bend and pose the tail, but still have it safe for a baby/toddler to play with. Any ideas on wiring with children and safety in mind would be most welcome. Thanks much!

Well, I guess the subject line covers it, what is silk plush? I've heard it called silk mohair too. If anyone can give me a rundown on what it is, and where you purchase it, I'd appreciate it.   bear_original  bear_original

Nina, I'll have to have another look at the bargain list...maybe I'll be able to order something in the future when I hopefully sell one of my bears. I'm hoping to use the sale proceeds from my bears towards materials for making more. Wish me luck!  bear_grin

Thank you very much ladies, for your generosity. You've made this lil bear maker very happy indeed! I'll keep everyone posted with pictures of whatever it is I make.  bear_grin  bear_wub

Hi everyone,

I was wondering...if anyone had any unwanted, or scrap bits of mohair lying around, would you consider donating them to me? Being a next-to-poor single mom, I've yet to buy mohair of any kind as I can't afford it. So if anyone has anything they don't intend to use, can't stand the sight of...or even if you've got bity little scraps that you can't use, please let me know. Thanks very much!  bear_original

Are Copic markers as good as Prismacolour markers for shading? Does anyone know if they fade at all? I'm using pencils right now, but am looking to start using the markers. Glad I found this thread, lots of useful info, thanks ladies  bear_grin

Awwwww, that's what my mum's dog Lacey looked like when she was a lil bitty puppy...should see the little terror now, lol  bear_tongue

For me, it's stitching up the back seam after everything is poked and prodded into place. It's the moment where I can't help but think, "I've done it, I've finished him/her and they look a treat!" bear_original

I think I'm in the middle of a swap Juliet, lol. We'll see how it goes bear_original

Ivyworks

Sure, a swap later on in the year sounds fun, I'm sure Lambert will be gone by then, but I know I'll have a bunch of other cuddly fellows to swap. Keep me in mind! bear_original
