She's wonderful, Joanne!  I love the photos of her lying down with her little sleepy eyes!  You have "realistic" down to an art!!!

They are both lovely, Jessie!   Blueboy made me laugh, too!  He's so cute!   I would be happy to cut out a mohair bear for you and send you the pieces.  Is there someone who can help you match the pieces up if I send them to you or what would work for you?   I would love to see you try a mohair bear!
Hugs,
Janice

Wonderful news, Aleta!  Now the fun begins ... getting all those goodies ready for the show!
Best wishes,

Awww, this is an amazing shot!  I love it!
It appears that the salmon is trying to quietly slip away - eeking his way out of the claws of that sleepy bruin!

I did too, Coraleen!  Now I'm ready for a nap - there were so many bears that it tired me out just looking at all of them and having to choose only one
in each category.  Too bad they can't streamline the contest a bit - I feel there are way too many categories - just my opinion!  Since I don't enter
contests, I don't see the need for 16 categories - I suppose if I were to enter contests I would appreciate that many categories as it gives most everyone
a chance -

Janice

What does the stitching look like on the reattached ears?  Is it old sinew or cotton thread or is it something newer?  If it's an old repair, I would leave well enough alone, if it appears to be recently (newer thread), I think I would try to fix it to it's original state - I have 2 books to bring along Saturday -
Hugs,
Janice   p.s. No wonder you couldn't choose - they are all cute!

Ha, Aleta, I think that wink was meant for me!   bear_laugh   Just kidding - he is cute, though!
I can bring my books on Saturday, Joanne, if you want to hang on to them for  a bit and see if you can identify them -

Janice

You are going to be very busy learning the new camera and the full version of Photoshop but I have no doubt it will all be worth it!  I really look forward to seeing your photography after you've taken some pictures with the new "toy"!  Enjoy!
Best wishes -

So happy for you, Andrea!  My dream was the Canon Powershot G-12 which was a $550 sacrifice and I am so glad I made it!  Your new camera is quite a few notches above mine but I understand the "glee" about having a new "toy" that will help you take even more amazing pictures!  About learning Photoshop, I would recommend "Photoshop Elements" rather than the full Photoshop program, it does so much and they sell a "Photoshop Elements for Dummies" book that really helps, too!
Best wishes!

Janice

The detail is amazing, Heidi!  I love him!

I would like to read the story and write a review for Amazon, as well!   Maybe photographs of an artist's bear would work for your illustrations?  Quite a few years ago a lady published a book about Christmas and she used all artist bears for her illustrations.   She photographed the bears in different scenes depicting the story of Christmas (kind of like what Peter does with his bears, how he photographs them to tell a story).   She used one of my bears as an Angel, I still have a copy of her book!  I bet you could find some TT artist's to help with "Solomon"!  Just an idea -

Hi Paula,
Both Intercal Trading Group and Edinburgh Imports sell faux fur (called Synthetic on their websites) in 1/4 yard quantities.
Good luck!

Joanne, that's what I love about dyeing - I love those purple undertones and when you over dye brownish red with green, it turns out very pretty!  Leanne, you are right, who says a bear has to be brown?!  Have FUN playing with the dyes - come up with your own unique color for your bear   bear_original

Oh, thank you, Joanne!  I didn't look through the comments to see if she left one!  I just clicked on her Avatar and it would only let me become a follower of my own blog!   Hopefully I will get the hang of blogging soon!  I have been on facebook for over a year and still don't have the hang of that, though!   I need a "Blogging for Dummies" book!
Hugs,
Janice
