There’s probably a simple answer to my problem. I recently made a bear using traditional gold viscose. I marked out the pattern with pencil then sewed on the line. The pencil is visible in the seams especially where I have closed up at the back.
My next bear is white and I’m racking my brains to figure out what I can use to mark out that won’t show.
Do people sew on the line? Or what do you use or would use?
Past Time BearsHi, Lyra . . . most bear patterns have a seam allowance built into the pattern. You cut out the pieces on the pencil line (or whatever you use to outline the piece) then the sewing line is 5/8 of an inch inside the pencil line, giving you a 5/8 inch seam allowance. That should eliminate the problem.
Posts: 89When I sew on white velvet, I use a very thin micron pen or water-vanishing marker to trace out the pieces.
