hi all

can anyone help me with with the date and what make of bear it is
its got glass eyes the stuffing is wood in head not body
my wife is 44 ops did i say that lol and she said she had it when she was born
and her antie had the bear when they were little
think had button in left ear and lable now gone

That looks like a cute and well-made elephant toy. It's not from Steiff (or any maker that I recognize), but someone else here might know something.

Could you tell us which country it's likely from? (or where your wife lived as a baby?)

OK - That's interesting because Merrythought (a company in the UK) made some animals (other than bears), I believe. They would have been good quality. You could try researching their animals from the 1950s - 1960s era.

Could it be a Russ Berrie?  They were always popular in England, and they did produce more than just teddies.
