Posts: 110I'm at the point of filling and stuffing my plushie, but I'm not sure if I should put the eyes in first. How exactly do you fix eyes in place? Especially taxidermy eyes, which are what I'm thinking of using, because its for a dog, not a teddy?

With taxidermy eyes I'd suggest needle sculpting an eye socket so that the eyes aren't just popping out on the face and then using a glue to hold them in place since they don't have a loop to sew on, after that needle felt some eyelids to secure them even further. Goodluck!

I haven't used taxidermy eyes myself, but this thread has a few interesting points that may help.
desertmountainbearI use taxidermy eyes often. They are concave, I use epoxy putty to fill the back up and place a very small eye with a loop in the middle. Then I can sew them in. You can probably also just super glue an eye with a loop to the back of the taxidermy eye too. I have just glued them in and then felted an eyelid. But I like being able to sew them in better.
Posts: 110Thank you for the replies :). I am no longer using the taxidermy eyes I'd planned to, as when I phoned up to order them, they said they would be far too heavy. Instead I've bought some from here: http://www.eyedentity.co.uk, which have either a straight wire, or a loop on the back. How do I fix these in place please?
