I am Hector, a Sun Products Steiff lookalike whose growler has stopped working, I want to know how best to replace the growler, where to get one from and basically how I go about it, i guess there will be a not so good as new hand stitching to get Hector back together again, what do you think? Well, Hector is adorable! Personally, I've never ordered a growler but I've been thinking about it plenty! I dont remember seeing any on Intercal's website, but that would be a good place to brows in any case. The places I order my eyes from, the ones not classic shoe buttons anyway, had them listed, as well as the place I get some of my better synthetics.
The first one is in Quebec, Canada, the other is in some remote part of Australia so I'm not sure if that helps any....

Other than those, I've had great luck with finding bits and pieces through Etsy :)

And welcome!

He's a lovely bear he was bought in the Bijenkorf department store in Amsterdam, he is made in China but to a very high standard, it looks like an
authentic Stief 20's type bear, I really want to get the right growler, and size for him, I can tell it must have a round cylindrical canister inside it, but I want to make sure i get the right canister size and growl and find out from some the best way to get him open and sew him back up again, this is a little dog called Boris I have jsut replaced batteries in the barker box in him.
thanks

Welcome!!

I bought a growler at the Hugglets show in London a few years ago, and it only cost 3 pounds!!  I'm not sure which booth sold it to me, but i will look to see if I can find out for you.  :0)

OK thanks that would be great, this bear is in England, Im not in any rush, I want to make sure I get the right size growler for it, and some advice on how to open him up, its a really a very well made bear, and the canister thing inside seems to be made of a solid material, not a carton one, thanks Hector

Welcome to Teddy Talk, Hector.  I've found that if I need to find where something is located or where I can buy a certain object, google will provide many suggestions.  I googled 'growler for teddy bear' and it came up with many options.

A very nice bear of the brand "Sunkid". I also have 2 of this brand, unfortunately without a voice.
