Yowza Winney! I make ONE five hour round-trip to bring my kids to their dad for the weekend, and my entire life purpose is erased by your well-meaning brother! Laughing hard here... :P:lol::P
Will leave up your avatar and, tomorrow, when I am less useless and exhausted -- which I am right now -- I'll get those photos you emailed me looked at and posted. Somewhere. Somehow.
Til then...!
Oh, and by the way... NICE WORK, Winney's brother, on that Avatar! Looks VERY polished and professional. And those bears, Winney -- plus the ones you sent me (I just gave them a look) -- are VERY cute! Thanks for sharing it all.
Ohh cute bears Winney! They are adorable!
Winney,
Very Cute Bears! ... Love the way they are kinda "huggin" each other.
Shelli, love the banner you did for Sue Ann ...very professional looking. That sideline is lookin good for ya.
I have been trying to learn HTML through the internet and there is an exercise for making a banner. Will have to give it a try. Just finding the time is the kicker. Course, if you want to do it bad enough, the time will come from somewhere.
Now that the weekend is here, I can concentrate on the bears (hope hubby doesn't have other plans)
Y'all have a great weekend.

Isn't Shelli talented at creating the avatars?! Judi, I love your new little bear . . . what an expression! And Wanda, that little guy you have up is adorable. Hugs to us all!!!
I am here tooooo! I didn't know this site (Teddy Talk) existed until yesterday. Boy, do I have a lot of catching up to do. So I better start reading. Glad I am here.
Shelli,
I have photoshop elements 3.0. I haven't had time to explore its possibilities. Do you or anyone know if I can create a logo with this software. By glancing over the book, I think I can.
Danni,
Love your bears.
Will get back to everyone after I read the posts.
Cindy, I'm a self-taught newcomer to graphic design and to PhotoShop in general (I use 7.0) and so don't have experience in what PhotoShop Elements, the smaller program, can do. Sorry.
PhotoShop the BIG (professional) program can create logos quite easily, but of course it takes a mountain of know-how to use it to its fullest and most sophisticated extent. I've only touched the very tip of that iceberg at this point. I maybe used 3% of this amazing program's functionality to create the avatars that are being used here on Intercal's boards.
What you need to have for logo creation are basically buttons or tools that allow you to:
-- create shapes (circles, ellipses, boxes)
-- add/edit colors
-- insert photos
-- resize (pictures, shapes, text, etc.)
-- insert text/change text orientation
-- choose font/font size/font color
-- "Select" things
-- cut/copy/paste
-- (clone) stamp
-- move
-- and maybe blur
If Elements has those buttons/functions, you should be good to go with the basics!
I should add that it helps a lot to be able to work using "Layers". Think of "layers" as a stack of transparencies, one on top of the other... and each containing a single design element (like your photo, your text, a circle, etc.)
Using my avatar as an example, the bear photo is on one "layer"... the word "Potbelly" is on another layer... the word "Bears" is on a third layer... the shapes are each their own separate layer... and so on.
In this way, you can move/change/manipulate each layer separately without disrupting the rest of your design work. It's a very handy way to work.
Hope this helps!
