Any special way you're supposed to do this, or just in and out and tug?  Like this, where x = thread points.  Any tips on what NOT to do?  Thanks.  Wanna try this.

I am not sure Deb if this will help but I do my toes like this
each number = order of needle entry/exit eg 1i  = entry point 1 into bear foot 2e =exit point from bear foot u=under bear skin/foot
o= over bear skin/foot

                                                              Front of Foot

                                                  6eu             4eu          8eu

                                   2eu           7io             5io            9io       1iu, 3io

                                                               Back of Foot

then exit on top of foot pull to draw up toes and secure
Does this make any sense what so ever??
Hope it does

I am glad Deb - look forward to seeing your new toes on your next /current bear
Only problem I sometimes have is that I pull too hard and snap the pearl cotton I use or maybe toes pucker bear_sad

Ethan2.JPGI find that it really helps if you pull the thread til firm, then squish in with your finger where you want the tension greater and pull a little more. Kind of the same technique you use to sculpt a face.
I always put the needle in  from the top of the toe area to the a base of the toe then pull up being careful to not wrinkle the fabric. You have to stuff the feet really firmly but not rock hard or you'll have a heck of a time sculpting it. The feet get firmer when yuo sculpt the toes.

Deb, I stuff the toe area then do the thread sculpting .Then I carry on stuffing and pull the threads for the toes a little tighter. and carry on until I'm happy with the toes. After that I finish stuffing the heel and then close up the leg seam.  There are always many ways to do the one job.  bear_grin   Matilda

Claire,
Welcome to Teddy Talk!
I am guessing that Cathedral toes are just another name for sculpted or pulled toes....like in the photo above. But what do I know? bear_laugh  bear_tongue
