oooooh I am dying over here....too much mega-dog luv
Golly has SUCH a dear face - what a lovey! & yes....Renae, send me that newf any
old time...at your convenience...
I have about ~130 lbs of dog, but it is a cumulative quantity:
you guys can store your mohair overflow at my house if you want to
I am the very spirit of generosity am I not???
I do love to order some & then I forget what exactly I am going to get, & opening the
box is like Christmas except I already know I am only getting stuff that I love. rofl
I have a boxer (wearing boxer boxers, yet) to guard the mohair even!
He is a tolerant boy
oooh Tracy can I see pics of Golly the english massive?
I love big dogs....my next one will be a newfie
(yes I know it's mastiff.....but they ARE massive...)
yep katydid. or "big green guys" as we call em around here!
they have a pretty distinctive call, I bet you've heard them.
dying at the crow story & the Renae adventures!
thankfully the little bat who got in our house had enough sense to stay
well up by the ceiling until I could do the towel-tossing thing, lol
I had a laminated part of a handmade shower invitation on my desk, & condensation from a
cold glass made the lamination & the printing underneath dissolve, so it was just plain
paper. Hey it was laminated, I thought it would work as a coaster! I'm not sure what
method was used to laminate it if that happened - it looked pretty strong before it got wet! But I
had the crazy notion that lamination was supposed to protect from stuff like water.
So uh...whatever the shower invitation maker used....don't use that
poor baby! I am GLAD it is not bloat though. It sounds like this new guy might
just be the one to turn things around for her. He sounds like he was on the ball.
Best wishes for Midget to feel better!
I think it is a great place but I am not happy clappy or caring and sharing enough perhaps to conribute much.I was finding very few threads to join in and those I did I was at odds with.
That's why I LIKE your posts.
Keep throwing your 2 cents in when you visit arright??
boo! washing out needs to NOT occur (for once)
Google leads me to instructions on how to boil my own walnuts  hmmm
one site offers 1 lb. of powdered walnut hull for sale - maybe that's the way to go -
anyone with a better idea do please speak up!!
I've heard it recommended for distressing & ageing.
is it the same walnut ink that scrapbookers use, or something else?
where might I get it?
thank you
Daphne do you get violets in the lawn too? We have more of a meadow than a lawn but
that's alright - it is green anyhow & I do love the purple & white violets in the spring.
We had some neighbor ladies come to visit
they did very much enjoy our irises - delicious, they said!
I think this guy
was looking for this guy:
but I don't think I would have wanted them to meet.
these guys must be so bright, so I don't step on them by accident:
They are all over around here, which I think means a healthy ecosystem.
it's like being given a gift, to see these:
bugs aren't the only things peeping in the windows
I pretty much always gotta watch where I step.
Daphne gets bigger wildlife than me!
quilt blocks get ironed?
Besides, who really looks at their neighbors and friends and says "Gee, I wonder if good old Tom could be a mass murderer?"

surely I'm not the only one???
9/10, by the way
YAY I am so glad your site is up! I love looking at your bears. thank you
oh yucko! poor kid! I hope she feels better soon, & if the party has to
be postponed, it all works out fine anyhow.
Renae said it most elegantly! Who knows, this lady may well end up making
the most fabulous bears & selling them herself.
ah what a neat little 'extra'! well-done!
sometimes making art leaves too much introspection time & I have to
go out & have new ingredients dumped into the mental stewpot!
You might laugh at my most recent obsession but I've really been having
lots of fun at it.
I have been wanting a metal detector for a good long time & got to buy one
for my birthday this year. We live on old farmland & so I have fun poking around
& digging up JUNK. Treasure hunting is fun - even if a lot of the stuff ya dig up is
shotgun shells or something - it's always interesting to find something hidden.
I get to learn about local history & how people lived years ago & research things.
I get to muck around in the dirt & have a ball!
Found an old quarter
& found what used to be the old farm rubbish pit. One of the intact
glass bottles says "AD Elmer's Pain Killing Balm - It Cures Like A Charm!"
& there was a milk glass cold cream jar from Larkin Soap in Buffalo NY, & a
bottle for "Gargling Oil", & as you can see, all manner of interesting old junk.
It's dorky but I have a lot of fun!
what sort of food does she eat? I wonder if maybe some ingredient in
her food doesn't agree with her? I am not saying "allergy" but sensitive
tummy perhaps for her brand of food?
You absolutely deserve to feel listened to & understood by your vet.
You know your little dog best - they are overlooking their most valuable
'diagnostic tool' - the owner! - if they are not taking notice of the
issues you're observing. Pets can't talk, all they can show us is behavior.
You are wise to pay attention when you see she is acting off!
There's nothing wrong with seeking a second opinion, or indeed finding
a vet who seems to LISTEN & respond to the patterns you've noticed.
Best to Midgie, I do hope she feels better soon. How is she if you feed
her something bland, like steamed white rice & plain cooked chicken?
That helps my guys feel better when their tummies need to be set right.
I don't remember what her sickness was about, can you link to the previous
story or sum up?
Love to that pup!
... Now I ripped the eyelids off ...
ouch oh OUCH!
am I the only one crouched under the chair shrieking at that?
roflmao
LOL thanks for the compliments on Mugwump! He's a Tokay gecko -
he was free in the paper - if I didn't take him he was going to be 'released'
into the MAssachusetts wilderness. But he's awesome. He QUACKS if you
upset him & sings when he's happy. Here is what he sounds like:

Tracy I DO think that Junebugs never last very long - they'll be gone soon!
I'd be happy to trade our just-woken-up deerflies though.... & the daddylonglegses
who are HUGE this year, with their bodies the size of my pinky fingernail - BLECH
This fellow is happy to eat as many junebugs as I can catch for him!
They're full of fat & protein - nature's candy
He's crunching one up in this picture.
I don't mind the junies much - it's the tiny gnats who fly THROUGH the
window screens & bite me, that I can't stand!
oooo. Lacis looks like a good place to get in trouble. & yah that interface is horrid!
Dilu I am finding OLD grosgrain in silk & it coems up a whole bunch in reenactment
costumery & stuff - & lots of vintage stuff - I am just having the devils own time finding
it newly manufactured.
I think ebay might be my best bet even if I have to use vintage stuff! which I don't mind
really, except that if you run out you're mostly out of luck for getting the same exact thing
later.
thanks everyone! if I find it I'll post
Well I like the bunny!
& I am not just sayin that in a "he has a great personality" sorta way either
As for the pigmonkeybear - at that point I think green & purple dye & a pair of
antennae are the best recourse. Who says all bears need to come from Earth???
Name him Mister Whatsit
Does anyone have a suggestion for where I might buy grosgrain ribbon in SILK?
I am finding it in rayon or polyester all over but it looks shiny & cheap to me against
natural textures like mohair & cotton. I'm not having much luck on ebay or google,
mostly just finding vintage stock in very random colors & sizes. Doesn't anyone make
it in silk anymore??
thanks for any help you might provide!
dilu excelsior is good for a nice firm packed stuffing, things don't shift
around & it is quite 'hard'. As Jenny says, it's great for stuffing noses
so that they embroider easy. Sometimes I wax the perle cotton before
embroidering the nose (to just get it impregnated with wax all the more)
& the stickiness pulls some polyfil through the hole. I imagine excelsior
won't!
Very flammable sure (is kapok? I would think) but authentic to the old
fashioned toys. I have also seen it used in heavily aged bears - if they
have holes worn through a paw pad or something, a bit of aged down
excelsior looks way better poking through than polyfil
