I can truly say Lynette, that if I ever find myself in dire straits, I hope that I have a friend like you!
You need to take care of yourself too!

Blessings on you and Sylvia!

He's really sweet Lisa! I saw that he made the "hot new topics" list on Craftster...not an easy thing to do with almost 100,000 posters! Congratulations

Hi Catherine
There's nothing at all wrong with wanting to make different styles of bears. There are some artists that only produce really one bear in a lot of different sizes and then say they are all different but....it really only show that they know how to use the enlarge and reduce buttons on the photocopier! (Gee...aren't I sounding confrontational the morning bear_shocked  bear_shocked I'm not meaning to...honest!)
I do think that really successful artists have a unique thing that is just theirs. Maybe choose one feature that will remain the same in all your work. Denis Shaw has quite a range of work, but has one constant...his embroidered eyes. Janet Clarke has a pretty distinctive airbrushing style coupled with a rather unique blend of proportions. Maybe for you its a distinct paw pad design or the proportions of the head to body etc.

I thought your bears had a really sweet 'roly poly' quality about them - a handful of sweetness bear_wub

yep...I'm in, if you'd like to have me!

I know that our own Edie Barlishen designed a bear for one of the manufacturers, but its slipped my mind...(hey Shelli...any extra of those vitamins handy?... ) anyway...it was a pink bear to support Breast Cancer research.
Edie...are you out there.....?

I'll add my congratulations to everyone elses!
It certainly is a different kind of love - thats reserved just for your kids, but it changes how you love others too.
Someone said that it changed the way she saw her hubby and thats true - Dwayne had this whole other side to him that I would never have seen.
I have never been pregnant  so I don't know what thats like (we adopted) but the waiting,
I certainly understand!
I can't imagine feeling more connected to my son, had he been part of me.
There will be days that you almost burst with pride over them and there will be other days when you will understand why some animals eat their young!
It will be truly the best and hardest job you will ever love!
Best Wishes

That's wonderful news Patsy!  bear_thumb I know how difficult it can be to be in pain and I'm so happy that you're doing better- you have lots of wonderful bears to create!
Take care of yourself, friend!

Wow Louise, I was wondering how you folks were getting along! Just think though.....in a month's time, we'll be complaining about the 30+C heat! Don't ya just love Alberta? bear_grin

OH, and by the way, SUEANN.... bear_tongue (just teasing)

I would say to continue on what you've been doing. You want your customer to see your work, exactly the way you intended it to be. If they choose to change it after that, its their perogative.
Just my humble opinion though! bear_grin

   A friend of ours is a 'tech support' kind of guy, and more that once when I've called him about a problem he says: "I see the problem, there's an information blockage between the chair and the keyboard!". Sadly I fall for it most of the time!

cherylbruinwerks

Awesome Maria! As always, well deserved!

I was thinking to myself...what a cute name, but I wondered what it meant...
Lillianna  "LOW PEARS" 'cause she looked pretty flat-chested to me!!!!
I get it now "LOP EARS"

Cheryl bear_flower  (going for more coffee now.....)

cherylbruinwerks

ahhhhh.... you guys bear_cry  thank you so much! I knew I could count on my TT buddies to lift me up and help me remember who I am and what's important! It is amazing what those little hugging happyfaces can do.

I don't usually let stupidity like this get me down....they just knew the vulnerable spot - our son.

We feel that we have had to take the highroad so often with this family that frankly, we are getting a little dizzy and feel a nosebleed coming on from the altitude.
I think I have passed the "devastated" portion of the journey and have reached the "incredibly p***ed off - how dare you" stretch of highway! When we reach the "cooler heads must prevail" rest stop - we will respond to them.

Thanks again everyone - you will truly never know what it has meant to me to feel your support...

I feel kind of silly posting really....nothing grave or fatal has happened... my DH & I received a letter yesterday(hand delivered to our mailbox) from some people we have considered close friends for many years and who are related to our son's birth family. I can't really say what it is regarding (I know...don't ya hate that?!) but we'll just say that words like THOUGHTLESS, HEARTLESS, DISHONOURABLE AND CRUEL were used.
Again, with all the terrible things happening in the world, it seems kind of silly to be so hurt by this but even though I know this isn't true about us, I am devastated. I spent yesterday and this morning wandering around in a fog trying to pretend everything is okay...but it isn't.

I could sure use a hug today! bear_cry

Hi Jane
It was a little bit of deja vu for me reading your description of your little guys surgery. Believe it or not, I (not my dog) had that exact same surgery last year on my knee!
I hope it goes well!
