OMG (an idea forms, with potentially disastrous consequences)  We should have a 'repair bear' swap! lol, give each other our rubbish bears to work on XD  :crackup:

Oooh Daphne, I know I should just rip out the neck and start again... I'm too lazy XD  I'll do it eventually, but it seems so much easier to just forget, or work on a newbie.  I'd like to be able to structure their faces a little more too   Maybe I'll save up for Judi's class next

Her neck is very bulgy to me...   And I seriously need some magic advice for eyelids: my sloths eyes never seem 'set', and this girl has eyes that bulge out of her head: not a happy sloth!  I liked her too, at first, but now she TAUNTS ME with her presence    I really like your bear Narni, can't believe she was a mistake!

Daphne, I'm glad to know you share my frustrations!  Could you bear to let a photo of her on the internet?  I too cannot throw her away, but still, I'd like a solution!  Maybe it'll just be patience, like everything else... 

I remember not too long ago there was a Wee Scone that Diane proclaimed to be a horror, and we all immediately fell on him in adoration and yelled at her (in a caring way, obviously!) for hurting his feelings :D.  Sadly, I find I am now also coming down with a case of 'Bearmakers Disgust' and I'm having a problem with a new Sloth...  I was aiming for the usual Lugly look, but I'm afraid with this girl I just got fugly!  :crackup:

So, my question is, what happens to your rejects?  Obviously, you try to fix them, but I'm hoping some of you have other tricks and tips:  I can't bear to let her loose until she doesn't look like she has goitre any more XD 

Please, someone tell me they've had 'monsters' too!

Wow thanks Judi, I feel very flattered: from the queen of felted muzzles herself!!         I wanted to try something new with Marmite, but I think the main problem was his size: he really was too small to be doing an open mouth i think!  The second I saw the Rabbit Maker had an entry (and saw the entry!) I knew I was done for though XD

I can't believe someone would do that   I hope they were insured, but I guess nothing could replace them...  Tell her to keep an eye out on Ebay for the bears being sold on.

I felt on for any protruding muzzles, but my Sloths are felted onto wool felt.  Marmite, my BBAA bear, had an entirely felted snout which took and age: I did it in two parts. Easier to felt onto mohair, methinks!

EDIT:  The bear in the background has a muzzle needle felted onto mohair; just to be contrary

I bought a Tissavel coat with the exact same purpose in mind, but when I got it it absolutely STANK of nicotine and when I washed it it ran out brown    It was horrid!  I just chucked it, I'm afraid: the fur never recovered from the washing...

I wish i was though... the one thing I regretted in September was not buying a bear from a Japanese artist who's details I don't know... his name was Bean    and he was sooo sweet...  I couldn't justify it then, but even now I wish I'd convinced myself XD  You can see him on here; (he's the grey/green one to the right... lookit him...)

If i was going I'd definitely be purchasing one of his brothers or sisters for myself, so I guess it's best for my pocket that I have too much work to do!  :crackup:

Jacqui, I forgot to ask did you sell the Elephant I was admiring from your stall on the day last Hugglets? He was one of my favs too!

Raffles is my favourite   His muzzle and eyes seem a little deeper set than normal for your bears paula: he looks so mysterious!  Love him! 

I entered Poke, my main Sloth   Obviously a daft thing to do:  I know that at least four of the nominations for critters have already been claimed by fellow TT'ers!  Ah well, there's always next year :)

Hey Paula, you wouldn't happen to know if you can change a postal address for the mag if you subscribe, do you?  I read it all the time at home but I can't gwet it in Durham's WHSmiths, so I need to subscribe, but my address'll be changing in July and I can't find any info on it on the site!

Phew, just in time!  I've received a Paypal payment and va note of apology, seems it's a computer problem as expected.  She says "...This is particularly annoying as I am thrilled to have 'won' this gorgeous chap and can't wait for his arrival. Best Regards and thanks for your patience..." amongst other things, which is good enough for me! I'm going to go and get a few bits for his packaging and I can send him off tomorrow, what a relief!

I often buy bits and pieces on Ebay, if they catch my eye I've got some really nice mohair, but remember you don't get the precedence of saying 'Schulte Mohiar' or whatever in your listings (unless they told you what it was!) Also, it;s really irritating when you fall in love with some and then run out XD Limited supply, argh!

OK, it'll be a week tomorrow and still nothing guys   I'm a bit worried now.  The only other contact detail is an address- should I risk posting her a letter tomorrow, or just one more e-mail and then offer him to the runner-up? It's getting too close to the dreaded V-Day!

Thanks Judi.  He's perched on my Sloths arm right now, and looks almost sane from across the room!  (not sure that sanity is something you'd normally look for in something of mine, but ah well...)
