Annoying isn't it?  I had this happen to my yahoo mailing list twice recently.  I have now changed the settings so that I have to approve any new memberships.

Best of luck bear_original

Thanks Bronwen  bear_original

Cheryl - thanks for your advice too - sounds like a good idea to get a few people's opinion on the pattern/instructions.

Jane - I actually just found an old Lisa Pay pattern in my stash - so I'll have a look at that!  My designs are very simple in comparison, but I'll still write out the instructions with a beginner in mind.

Thanks everyone for your help  bear_flower

Thanks everyone for your replies  bear_smile

Ali, thanks for volunteering to run through one of my patterns for me!  I might just take you up on that bear_original

I've only ever followed one pattern before personally, as I started designing my own bears nearly straight away!

Oh well, looks like of got some work ahead of me here - I'm planning to release my cat and horse patterns as well as my 2 inch bear one.  Wish me luck! bear_original

Hi everyone,

I've been thinking of selling my patterns as I've had quite a few enquiries about it lately.

What's the best way to go about it?  How much detail should I include in the instructions, ie. should I include photos of the different stages or is written instruction sufficient?

Cat Gabriel

What great tutorials!  I like the extra neck idea too - thanks for posting  bear_thumb

Cat Gabriel

Could someone explain to me how to do a wobble jointed neck please?  I'm sure it's simple but I've never attempted it before.

Thanks  bear_smile

What a cutie, I really love the colour of that mohair  bear_wub

Congratulations Lisa!!   The article looks fantastic  bear_thumb

Interesting topic.  I sell my creations for less than I used to.  I was making more money back when I first started bearmaking in 2003!  bear_wacko   even though my skills have improved and I think my bears are a lot better now.

I'm so glad you decided to give her a body Sarah-Jane!  She's turned out fantastic - well done

Choosing a baby name is so difficult!  bear_wacko   We had a shortlist and still didn't know right up until I had the baby.  Hubby ended up choosing the name while I was recovering from the birth - I was too stuffed to object to his choice and just went with it  bear_tongue

I like Chelsea or Cassie for a girl.  But it's a personal choice, you'll find the right one, don't worry  bear_smile

Hi Catherine,

In the past I just used ordinary coloured pencils to do subtle shading on my minis, moisten the tip to give a darker effect.

Lately I have started using prismacolor pencils, they work really well.

Hope this helps  bear_smile

Jimjams is fantastic Paula!  bear_wub

My clown bear is still in the planning stage, hopefully soon I can get started on it!

Cat Gabriel

Thanks everyone for your replies!  Sorry, I should have said what size I was talking about - my bears are anywhere from 2 - 5 inches.

Might have to check out this micro stainless steel shot I think, the steel shot I have used in the past is the brown variety.

I like the idea of putting the shot in little "pillows" so they don't go everywhere.

Thanks  bear_smile

Hi all,

Just wondering whether other mini artists weight their bears, what you use and how you do it?

When I first started bearmaking I used to weight my minis with steel shot just by pouring a little bit into the body, but I'm sure there is a better way of doing it.  I haven't been weighting my minis for a while now and wouldn't mind starting again, so just wondering how others do it?

Oh wow, what a beautiful park - does look like it's out of a fairytale doesn't it  bear_smile

What a little sweetheart! bear_wub

Great photo!  What an exciting time for you.  Enjoy your belly while it's there - I just looooved having a preggy belly!  bear_grin
