I think for me its definitely too much "junk in the trunk"(& well...the rest of the car too!)

Okay...I realize I'm 'a little late to the party' on this one  but you could count me in!
I miss getting together with all our bearlovin' friends a little closer to home.
For those a little farther away, Calgary is a major airline hub and you can fly almost any airline direct to there!
Skiing and the Rocky Mountains are only an hour away and real bears and........Easy Easy!

How terribly sad! I crossed paths with Claudia several times @ US shows and she was always helpful, friendly and had a great laugh. She made a great turtle named "Franklin" that I always loved and her little animals had such delicate little 'hands'.
The teddy world has lost truly a gifted artist!

Sounds wonderful!! I'm going to sound very thick now - but what does 'Thanksgiving' celebrate -
Hi Clare
I copied the 'official' definition of Thanksgiving from Wikipedia:
Following a nineteenth century tradition, most Americans believe that the first American Thanksgiving was a feast that took place on an unremembered date, sometime in the autumn of 1621, at Plymouth Plantation, Massachusetts. In 1620, a group led by separatists from the Church of England, who were heading for Virginia, instead landed at modern-day Plymouth, Massachusetts, for uncertain reasons. In the autumn of 1621, they celebrated a three-day harvest feast with the native Wampanoag people, without whom they would not have survived the winter of 1620.
Although, I can't speak for all Canadians, we tend to sort of ignore the 'pilgrim' aspects of the day and concentrate on the change of seasons and a general remembrance of the year. Oh yeah, did I mention the big roast turkey? YUM!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Canadian TT'ers!
 Have a wonderful weekend- we have so much to be thankful for
( To our American friends...we celebrate much earlier, as its harder to be thankful when its -40 and blizzarding! LOL)
Hi Nancy
Congratulations!

I'll be sure to pick up a copy.
At this time of year, I always miss 'BearFair' in Calgary and wish we could all get together-don't you?!
Best Wishes,
Cheryl
Wow, Judy... you had a really tough day. I hope that today is brighter for you and those you love. You are in my thoughts.

My husband and I met when mutual close friends had a "fix up all your single friends" party. They matched up all their singles into couples that they thought would be good together and had a big dinner. This is not something I would normally do, but since they knew me so well, I thought that maybe they would have better luck than I had had on my own! Well, 5 minutes after meeting my 'perfect match'  I questioned whether our hosts had ever actually met me!!! I did spot a really cute guy across the room though and thought why can't I meet a guy like THAT?
Eventually that cute guy and I became friends. He was so much fun and so interesting that I didn't want to risk telling him how I felt about him if it meant we couldn't be friends anymore. I did always wonder why he didn't date much even though every available friend of mine wanted to go out with him, he always said no. One day, after some prodding, he confessed that it was because he was already in love with someone...me! He hadn't wanted to say anything because he didn't want to risk our friendship.
He proposed on our 1rst official date and we married 8 months later. We have been married 16 years and have a 10 year old son.
Still crazy in love with my guy (and he's still my best friend),

Hi Paula
What a fun thread! I think when you put your whole heart and skill into creating something and the results bring you satisfaction, you're already a winner... but nothin' like having a little "hardware" to remind you!

These were my winners in the 2006 URSA Awards: The Goldfish Whisperer in 2 categories and George in 1.
