Hello,

Just putting out feelers............Don't want to say too much.

If there was a bear show in Calgary AB, would you come? Would you visit or want to show and sell bears?

Let me know what you think, any thoughts or ideas.

I would love to too Heather, as long as I had ample notice to plan...what I am finding without a good list is that I am finding out about shows in Canada the month before through the magazines....So YES as long as I had a few months to plan!!!!

Timing and distance, and sometimes both combined, make shows difficult for me.  But in theory I'd love to attend!

Where's Calgary, Alberta?  Somebody get me a map!

What time of year are you thinking about, Heather?  That might help people...

I would love to attend.  I've been waiting for a show to be picked up in Calgary.  Living here in Winnipeg i have no other choice but to travel to a show. 

A couple of us have gotten together and we are having our 2nd annual bear show on November 5th.   Last year's went really well.

Shelli, thanks. It would be fun, be we are so far away. We are above Montana, so just east of the Rocky mountains, in fact, I can see them from my office window.

Heather, I think another Canadian venue would be terrific.  I don't think I can travel all the way across the country though.  If only Alberta were closer to the east coast     I hope you can get something going.

Heather, you're not just teasing are you! LOL! I've missed the Calgary Bear Fair so much - never could understand why someone didn't step up and take it over as it was so successful - getting a new show going this much later might take a bit of doing but I'd certainly to attend if at all possible - particularily if it was a convention type show and not just another sale. Can't wait to hear more details!

Depending on the size and scope of the show, I would certainly go.  I miss the Bear Fair.

I doubt I'd be able to attend if it's next year since I'm planning a trip to Thailand in the Spring and that will take care of my disposable income for some time. However, is there any chance of a table for out-of-town bear makers? Just wondering. hmmmm, maybe I could get my daughter to stand in for me!

Another TT'er and I are thinking about doing this in a year's time. So plenty for everyone to get notice.

Oh yes, yes, yes - I have missed the Bear Fair so much - count me in.  I would like several months lead time though - if possible.  What time of year are you thinking about - not that it matters as my husband has just retired.  Oh I'm getting sooo excited!!

Not sure yet when it would be, I'm even open to feedback from anyone here.
I promise you would get tonnes of lead time, and we're going to do our best to get good hotel rates as well.
Just wish my house was bigger, I'd keep you all there.

Sorry I don't have a time picked out, still at the SUPER early stages of planning. But it's great to see all the support.

Okay...I realize I'm 'a little late to the party' on this one :redface: but you could count me in!
I miss getting together with all our bearlovin' friends a little closer to home.

For those a little farther away, Calgary is a major airline hub and you can fly almost any airline direct to there!
Skiing and the Rocky Mountains are only an hour away and real bears and........Easy Easy!

Hey Cheryl, man I just found your post here while I was writing down names.

I'm for sure going to go ahead with this show. Everyone will  have PLENTY of notice to get bears ready, I promise. The show will be in Oct. 07 so start sewing! LOL

Thanks Cheryl for the Calgary plug, it is a hub and a great place to visit!

So far, seems like alot of people are interested, should be a nice big show that I'm going to heavily advertise.

Oh wow! Sounds exciting! I could not commit due to health reasons but it is wonderful to think the prospect of a Canadian bear show only 2 hours from home! Wow!
