Well Done Jennie!
Celena...Best Wishes
Thank you Jane, I'm really happy you like her. I'm sure Billie will settle in comfortably after such a warm welcome and the two of them do look so good together.
I assume you found my note in amongst the wrapping?
Claire: I don't know if you get Australian Bear Creations, there is an article in this months edition on how to do noses. Chris did a post earlier but you may not have seen it.
I find sewing and designing both relaxing ... stuffing can get me a little stressed but like Danny I usually take a break and do something completely different.
Well maybe only different to a degree, I never want to escape from bears totally...I do like painting teddies and I find this very calming and sometimes it's even inspirational!
I really don't think I do anything much that isn't associated with teddies except... cooking and housework...YUK! YUK! YUK!...dirty words!!!

Jane it's good to finally see some of your bears!
Our Sandi of Bearly Sane has a wonderfull article on doing great noses in this months ABC
.
I was so impressed that I had to let you all know. Sandi does fantastic noses and she has written instructions for her great noses.
Sandra has once again done an excellent job, it's filled with inspiration.
Think I might go and make a big head to try these noses out
Oh and look out for the challenge, it looks so tempting
Thanks Chris for your comments.....I'd really love to see you make a big bear not just a big head!
EDIT: You're lucky, I haven't even got my copy yet! But Sandra assures me it's on it's way.....YIPEE!!!

OK I will first say I LOVE Winnie the Pooh, but the other day I had said to my husband that I was frustrated about the weight I have gained over the winter and my youngest son goes "mom you aren't fat , you are just built like Winnie the Pooh" First I went " Ahhhhh that was so cute" but then I got to thinking of the image of Pooh's big butt getting stuck in Rabbits door hole, this hit way too close to home, I could picture my big butt in the exact same way, I got chills thinking of Rabbit decorating it to try to hide it. ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please anyone that has any good dieting hints please post them here,
Bear Hugs
Jodi aka pooh
Jodi this is what's commonly known as Bearmaker's Disease
Forget the diet, eat smaller sensible meals and excercise regularly, even if it's only walking the dog or pushing a pram for an hour EVERY DAY!
After I made one head I put pins in all the seams an inch apart, then took a measuring tape and measured the distance across the seams so I knew where to make the curves in the gusset. I transferred all my measurements to graph paper and drew a pattern. My only regret is that I didn't take photos of my process! It looked like I was doing brain surgery on this doll head stuck to a pencil with a hundred pins sticking out of it.
Sound a bit like VOODOO!
Hi Jodi
Like Chris, I use freewebs and I pay for the Premium service too. Never had any major problems that I couldn't deal with myself. Have changed templates a couple of times with very little problems.
I also do a cache clearance of everything at least once a week. It does mean re-entering passwords, but I don't worry about that as I like to change them frequently too.
Sorry not to be of any help other than to agree with Chris's advice. You could upgrade to Premium for a month and see if that makes any difference.
Go for it Ann ... many a wonderful design has been made by accident!
As my old granny would say: ALL'S WELL THAT ENDS WELL!

Great pictures Jane
....thanks for sharing!

Hi Eliza,
Making teddies and critters has been full time for me for the past ten, almost eleven years. I wouldn't say it's a regular 9-5 job, as I often work peculiar hours (a bit like Denise...often sewing at 4 am) and the income can be just as erratic, but it certainly has it's benefits and I wouldn't change places with a soul.
I teach teddies two days a week and the rest of my time is spent either designing bears for myself or for patterns, hand-sewing my bears, updating the website and promoting my work either through shows or magazine articles, taking care of general business accounts, researching new products and sourcing materials as well as preparing notes for classes etc.
If you want to become rich in the $ sense you're in the wrong place ... If you want job satisfaction, a creative outlet, a feeling of being fullfilled ... you've just gotta keep at it and ...
DO WHAT YOU LOVE & LOVE WHAT YOU DO
Good Luck!
EDIT: Subscribe to Teddy Bear and Friends and go to their website for info on how to submit your bears. http://www.teddybearandfriends.com
Still waiting....very impatiently!
Can anyone tell me if Mindy broke it down into Countries or was it strictly in alphabetical order?
Photoshop 7.0. Wish I had version CS2.
Shelli, Maybe this will help?
Peta...I'm afraid once you post a bear anywhere on the internet you're bound to get someone, somewhere, sometime...either use it for inspiration or a model!
Sandi I love your logo! Are you irish??
Gaby :rose:
No Gaby...I'm an Aussie bred from British stock!
...no more gotta get some bears done!
Melissa thanks for the linfo...I'll try and get the other books for Glenn. I'm sure he'll enjoy them too, especialy "Mother Tongue"...Bryson certainly has a style of his own!
Thanks girls and Shane,
It looks like most of you have an LCD screen of some sort and those that haven't wished they had and look forward to upgrading. It's good to come here and get some straight answers!!!
I like to learn from other people's experiences when I can, rather than listen to fast talkin' sales people.
The advice is greatly appreciated.
P.S. Shelli please check your email!
