Hey, Becky. You asked me for feedback on your web site. Navigating it is okay, but I can't find the descriptions for your bears.
Thanks, and I don't know about my dimples, but Arcto is the greatest thing since sliced bread.
Wow, all I can say is God bless you and my prayers are with you.
Someone would have to help me, but I think if I could find someone with eyeballs I may be able to use them.
Yay, you guys like Arcto!!!!!! Peterbear, he is made by Passport Plush Toys, whatever that is. I'd like to get him as my avatar, but I don't have a lot of luck with posting pictures, lol.
Wow, small world.
Are they bears or more hippos?
What a cool story behind that bear. I'm sure your friend will love him. Sorry I can't comment on the pic, lol.
That would be cool. I can't read PDF files, but maybe I can find someone with eyeballs to help me.
Okay, I hope this works. This is the only other way I know to do this.
Actually, my bear family is HUUUUUGE, but they're mostly manufactured bears. The bears I'm making are for other people except BGB. The fourth bear is going to my Mom, but I need to quit playing with him before I lose my heart. There's a bear in progress for my stepdad so he can keep him in the truck.
Well, I just finished sewing up half a bear and my poor fingers look like I've been playing the guitar, so yep, the bears I am surrounded by get their ears full.
I'm not sure if I can use it or not because my screen reader won't read it. It also says mohair bear and I use faux fur.
Blast it!!! I can't post pics on this board. I'll try to figure it out.
Cool. I'm pretty good at stuffing bears. I do it by hand, though.
I was just curious to know if I was the only one. I would love to talk to a blind bear maker to get some tips because they would be able to explain things in a way that would be clear for me to understand. We do things a little differently than the rest of the world. I know there are blind people who sew, but most of my blind friends wouldn't touch it with a ten-foot pole.
He's a manufactured bear, but I have to show him to you guys. He's my baby. Let me know if this works.
I've made three more bears since I finished this guy. I'm just waiting for someone to help me with the pictures. One is out of the same flece material and two are out of this faux fur that I am absolutely in love with.
Hi. I'm looking for some unjointed patterns. I have two patterns already that people have made for me, but I would like to try different patterns instead of just making the same two bears, but I hear that joints would be very visual, so I would rather not do that right now. Can anyone please help me? Also, I don't use mohair. I use faux fur and I also make bears out of fuzzy blankets or whatever I can find that feels like a bear. Thanks.
No, I haven't developed a pattern, but I would like to maybe sell my bears someday and I didn't know how that would work if I have to create my own pattern because that seems like Greek to me. Of course if I ever sold a bear I made from someone else's pattern, I would ask them and give them credit because I wouldn't want to be a jerk and take credit for anybody's ideas.
Are there any other blind bear artists out there or am I a trail blazer?
Yep, my eyeballs don't work. I use the braille method, which in sewing means that you stab yourself 800 times a day and then you either swear or make up your own swear words, my favorite being "OH VISTA!!!!!!!"
I have a question. Is it possible to create a pattern if you don't have vision?
I got it and I replied. I also have some questions about this site. I think they're trying to make me cuss, but I don't do that, so I'll just say shucky darn.
I hope it's okay to mention this, but there is also CR's Crafts, which is an online store. They have a gob of fabric and they're pretty reasonable, but I can't buy fabric online because as I can't see it, I have to feel it and they haven't found a way to do that over a computer, lol.
