Oh I think McSheepy is a perfect name Bronwen. I do hope the new owner keeps the name too!

Glad all your nightmares are over for the time being.

Well done ol' girl!   You did make me giggle!

Sandi

P.S. I know you said the bagpipes came from Scotland...but how did you get hold of them?

bearlysane

I'm glad you corrected yourself Gladys...you had us in a panic. Last creation indeed! How terrible that would have been.

Love her colours...by the look of the second  :photo: Rosita's only a wee one. I do admire people who can make them soooo small.

Hugs,
Sandi

bearlysane

Lisa that's a lot of work to take on...but I'm sure they will be appreciated.

This one looks fab...are the other two going to be similar or are you doing something different for each one?

Hugs,
Sandi

Well Dilu, the first one from downunder is posted in the challenge gallery!

If it's not in focus blame hubby! Tried editing but can't do anything about the evil bulges ... Sorry!

I think teddy artists are like quilters when it comes to mohair...sometimes I feel I must be a halfbreed because I have a stash of both mohair AND fabric.

His only plaint now is "Where we going to put it" which is sadly a very valid point.

Like Renae, I'm getting to the stage of where to put it! I've used both the robes in my kids old rooms for fabrics and my mohair stand is full to the brim.  bear_grin

I have actually gone to the lengths of leaving a package in the boot of my car until the next day so that I can smuggle it in unnoticed.  Then I rearrange the new lot into my stash, and it goes unnoticed.

Been there Christine, but I guess I'm pretty lucky now...or maybe hubby has just gotten passed worrying about how much mohair I buy...but he doesn't complain anymore...he just accepts that it's the way of things!  Thank you Lord!

Lucky girl Edie, what a picturesque spot!

Well Dilu, my TT shirt finally arrived this morning...but it's too cool to wear it today, so you'll have to wait to see the  :photo: at a later date! Pleased with the quality and the size is about right...I need it a bit bigger to cover the little evils!

Hi Gemma,

I've been experimenting with food dye and vinegar (neither are expensive brands) and found it very successful.

The vinegar label just says "White Vinegar" then in small print "vinegar brewed from fermented spirit". It's just a Coles Supermarket own brand in a 2 litre bottle...like Safeway or Woolworths brand.

Did you soak your wood rovinhg before emersing in the colouring? I just rinse my mohair in clean warm water first. Maybe you just used too much colouring.

Are you felting a bear? Purple's not such a bad colour for a bear though...specially if you sit him in a barrel of grapes! bear_grin

I hope this helps you, I don't know what else to suggest. Maybe some of the others will have better hints.

Hugs,
Sandi

Paula he's beautiful.  bear_wub  bear_wub  bear_wub the colour.

Have been considering doing something in this colour myself, so it's nice to see how well it makes up.

Well, no boobs on a bear.

Renae, what do you mean...no boobs on a bear? They've gotta feed their wee cubs somehow!

This is Delilah, the bear I designed for The Bears that Care Charity Auction, completely naked ('cept for her shoes). If you want to see her dressed go to my website!

Did you mean in the heat or on heat

I love the long hot days of summer...absolutely hate being cold...just can't function at all with cold feet and hands!

The only good thing about winter is being curled up in front of the fire or having cuddles on a cold winter's night!  bear_grin

Louise I love that your mum called them "SPARKLES", I always felt that "FLASHES" had more to do with cameras and "FLUSHES" as we say here, sounded too much like I was going down the loo!
I'm not ready to be flushed anywhere just yet!

Hugs to all those suffering,

Diane,
I think this is what is called an overstimulated imagination...I suffer from this constantly and always have about four projects on the go, not knowing which to finish first.

I'll have an idea and have to get it out, even though it might only be for part of a bear...mostly to make room up top for more ideas to pop into!

There are often heads sitting on the top of glasses waiting for their bodies to be made or faceless unstuffed bears lying around whilst I'm busy drafting another pattern, so you are not alone.

I really feel for you, I know how frustrating it can be. bear_wacko

I hope the blondes know I'm not having a go at them personally...I just find there's a lot of jokes out there about blondes...and of course the IRISH!
What I like best is, blondes and the Irish can laugh at themselves...just like the Aussies!

I'll post some Aussie jokes later.

Big hugs
Sandi

bearlysane

Jenn there are many here who think they're lucky and appreciate the chance to swap ideas, support each other and have a laugh together.

It's an opportunity to meet other people with similar interests, but with different backgrounds, that we otherwise might never meet and I'm proud to say I feel privileged!
