Here is a little bear I designed for myyoungest grandson Deegan, which of course I named Baby Deegan.  Hay I worked!! I guess you can tell I was having  problems loading the pic.

Hi Heather,
I think that may be a plan! I have taken a couple of design courses along time ago but not through Nancy. I don't think she was offering any at the time I took mine. I tiik my form a couple of gals from the Hat. Ther are afew of us here in the Hat that make bears. Before the One stop Bear shop closed their doors they use to have a day bear show in the summer and have a retreat in the fall for a weekend. It was fun. Now there is nothing, and with the show in Calgary not here there is only the one in B.C. for out west here.
If you are not sure in how to design bears or need help, I think you would find it very helpful. I have taken a couple of Nancy's other courses and found them to be very helpfull.

Hi Heather,
I asked my husband if you require a licence to buy steel shot and he said no! He has used it for reloading and has never been asked to show a licence. You need a licence to buy ammo, but not for the componets such as steel shot. I have not gone to walmart here (Medicine Hat) to buy steel shot, but will give it a try the next time I am in town. I have even in the pass gone to a hunting store and bought shot for my husband  and was not asked for a licence. Not sure why they are telling you this. I think I would ask to speek to the manager.

  Yes that is Nova Scotia, She lives down by the camp grounds Dunromin. Annapolis Royal. Where abouts do you live in N.S.? I had my mom out here(in Alberta) with me for a year to help her get back in track. She has alot of health problems and found it hard with 5 deaths in the family within one year. A brother, husband,mother inlaw,mother and sister inlaw. I took her home in April and is doing fine.
It is hard to have her so far away.... but she is doing fine and I talk to her every day. Before she went home , she help to make 4 bears from her moms coat to give one to each of her  two brothers and her moms sister who is 95. and one for her self. It sure made her feel good to help and be able to give them each some thing that was their moms and sister.
What a great feeling!

That looks great! What size do you have to make each block? I looks big in the picture.
I have done a little quilting in my time. Just before my dad passed away 3 years ago, my mom made up blocks then send them out to me ( she lives in NS ) to put together the top. So I did and sent it back to my mom to quilt. I found out later that my dad use to get up at night when he could not sleep and would quilt and sometimes they would sit and qult together.The quilt is very special to my mom and my self because It is a quilt that we all had a part in making and was the last thing my dad had a part in making. He use to love to make things from wood all the time. I knew my dad could do a lot of things but I was surprised to find out about the quilting. He had learn to sew from his mom when he was a young boy, but never told any one.

I have taken a couple of courses from Nancy and found them to be very good. I think you would enjoy them. You can login into the course any time night or day. Just grab your coffee and sit down in our PJ's. and login!!! This is the beauty of online classes.I am looking at taking a couple more. more.
I guess I should state that I am new to the form.... I hope you don't mind me jumping in here with my two cents worth.   I am from Alberta ...HI Jane! I have been into the craft business for over twenty years and the last five years into bear making. I have had to slow down in making bears due to health problems. Hi everyone!
  Jane that course I would like to take when I am up to it as well as the airbrushing.
