Amanda,yes I did paint the eyes,I have been doing that for a while but I tried some of the tips I learned here from these great gals! ;)

I loved seeing everyones bears when they were posted.I've been in a funk lately and have been unhappy with the last few bears I've made.I thought I would try something totally different and new to me.Here's the bear I just finished,I needle felted his body(my first time,what fun! )and made a traditional head ,etc.Okay,be brutal,what do you think?

 
I hope he makes you smile,he sure was a lot of work.I think I'l call him Finian for Fred Astaire's last musical,"Finian's Rainbow".

Oh Jane,I'm so sorry to hear that you are not well.I second all the sentiments here(lovely prayer) and sen you a big fat bear hug this will slow you down a bit for a short while but I'm sure there is a good side,hey,at least your having the operation now and not during Christmas holidays or some important time.That is a bummer though to miss the bear fair   You need to take good care of "YOU" right now.

Thanks Hayley.My first avatar sold so fast I didn't even get him on site.I spent time with Jane's advice ,getting my web reworked.Then lots of time adding links.Now when I get a photo editing program,I'll add more pictures.I love doing open mouths.I'll try to post a better close up tomorrow of one of my open mouths.Right now it's after midnight and this pumpkin has a big day of home reno tomorrow(I mean today) so I best get off to bed.

Well here is my newest little bear and I do say little at about 6.5 inches.Her name is Pookums.I almost didn't finish her because my husband said she looked like a beaver Can this be true??? I will list her for auction this evening,then finish the last bit of my next bear (really unusual) and then,paint my daughters room.make a duvet and do window treatment while she's at camp this week.

"Lair" so that it reads Shar-Bear's Lair ,that would be wonderful .I have adopted that name as the name of my web site but I don't have a business name yet.There are a few other "Sherr Bears,Cher Bears etc so I just list my bears under my name Shari L. Murphy or S.L Murphy .Thanks so much Louise,your site looks terrific,you should be very proud

Judi,I just can't wait to tell you that I received my stuff(no I haven't started yet but I will,I promise).the knitting patterns are wonderful! i love the clown,Bertram(Sirdar) and that will be the one I try first.Mom's birthdays not until Nov.so I have a bit of time.Thanks so much Judi (hug,hug).I hope you had a wonderful trip and you will tell us all about it.

Oh my gosh,I do feel sorry for the bee and can only imagine waking up missing some of my body parts(or maybe that would be a good thing in the lines of belly fat etc.) but that's the biggest laugh I've had all week and can only imagine us "creative minds" ever doing such a thing.I can just see us bear and doll makers(and sculptors) actually understanding the whole thought process of it.
On the other note,I lived in a basement apartment in Teachers College for a summer and we had a severe earwig problem.They still make me cringe.They were coming down the walls and across our beds like an army of soldiers.I would have given anything for a handful of chickens.we each had a container of dish soap to soak them in because back then that was the prescribed solution.We finally had to vacate during the middle of the night just for our own sanity and the landlord had to "fix" everything.I'm sure the next tenants were confused by all the dried puddles of soap :lol:

I have done an inset muzzle and I attached it just beyond the bend in the muzzle towards the nose.Make sure you add on a bit like you do to attach the paw pads.There is a pattern by Peter Weston(?) in my Australian Bear magazine,I'll look it up and see if it's any different.I'm sure you will have lots more advice though.

Her eyes are just stunning!I like they way you thought of Marie and our own Marie and before I read Louises's post I was thinking of something along that line but more regal  like Antoinette(Marie Antoinette )and I see that Louises had the same idea,great minds I'm sure you will find a suitable name.She sure did become a "she" pretty fast.

I know in a post just recently one of you gals gave me a link to a free photo editing program,thank-you!:) I really cannot afford adobe right now and when I search free photo editior I get a number of choices.One is the "free seriff.... that I was told about here and then there were others such as photo works,photoplus vicman and gimp.Can any one advise,are they all good,all bad or no difference?I would love to here any and all suggestions before I decide which to down load.Thanks so much for your help.Shari.

Oh Jane,we love Harry here too.I gave my son money for his 14th birthday on June 30 because all he wanted was the new book.I'm going to pick it up tomorrow as soon as it comes out.We can't wait.There will be at least four of us trying to read it all at once here if my oldest fella will let us:P
The movies come out around Nov.so we go for my middle guys birthday.Can't wait to read the book,now I'll get even less done around here:|
