Charlotte, I meant to ask where you are at in N. NM? I grew up just outside of Albuquerque, in Sandia Park and am lucky that my parents sill live there. I love N. NM, such an amazing place you live in!
Duff,
We are half way between Santa Fe & Las Vegas, out in the boonies...We really love it too, moved to NM from MA 15 years ago.

Well, mine isn't a bear, hope that's ok. It's a little needle felted witch & pumpkin. She is 3 3/4 inches tall & 4 inches to the top of her hat. Off to put her in the Gallery now.
PS I love all the wonderful Halloween creations everyone!!!

Ahhh yes...twin fawns are such a sweet sight! When I went to Texas on the train, I saw Does with Twin Fawns a number of times & there were lots of them near where out Son & DIL live. Great sight to wake up to Shantell!!!

Thanks so much!! I think that the Red Riding Hood/Wolf/Grandma one must have been very popular!!
I have my topsy turvy dolls displayed right now in a basket hanging on the wall & you can see the Bear peeking out from under the skirt at the cow who is peeking out from the other one...both standing on their heads...it's a riot!!!

LOL...I watched The Wizard of Oz every year..our local only TV channel played it every year in Feb...but it was years before I got to see it change to the color...we only had a black & white TV when I was growing up & no TV only radio until I was 7.
The person below me is a secret Super Hero.

I just finished my second needle felted Topsy Turvy Doll. I call this one "Best Buddies" because one side is a golly & the other is a bear...of course they are best buddies!!!
This doll is 5 inches tall, and the golly has violet eyes & blouse and both sides of the skirt have embroidered violet flowers. The bear buddy is Chestnut Merino wool. All features are needle felted. The skirt is vintage muslin feed bag, that I stained to look old with black walnut stain I make from the hull by boiling in water (I use this stain on lots of my baskets).
LOL true...especially when no one expects you to be dressed to the 9s..like the green sequence dress I wore to a neighborhood St Patty's Party...It was a dress my friend got me from the movie she had worked on...a couple of folks who are members here saw the picture of me wearing it...lol
The person below me cooks a killer lasagna!
