I've been having a tough time of things lately and making bears gives me such a feeling of peace.  It's  really does feel like getting a big hug
when each of you leave a little message.

I finally have a precious few hours left free today so I'm of to work on some bearies.

Again,  Many thanks for the encouragement and for being such a sweet group bear_wub

marmeebunny2-400px.jpgWhew! Finally got this little one photographed...  Please say hello to Marmee Bumbleroot.  She's completely handsewn and stands about 6 inches tall from ear tips to toes :0)  Oh... and her whiskers are from my own little donkey's tail!
addendum:  I just realized that sounded like I have a donkey tail   when what I meant was that Eeyore, my donkey, donated the hair for the whiskers!

I'll have more about her listed in my Etsy shop later tonight.  Right now I'm off to see my first baby graduate from high school.  I suspect I'll be crying before it's over.  She's very excited, of course!  Thanks for looking!

Update:  She's in the shop! http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?li … d=27026078

Thanks so much for the tips!!!  The orange stick and needle assistance are great ideas bear_thumb
I also had a thought while weeding the garden this evening... what if I just left a much larger opening than normal?
Mattress stitching would work just as easily on a  partially sewn arm as it does on one with just a small opening.
Plus it's a bit of a fun challenge to see how perfect I can get the closing to look ;0)  Will try it tonight and let you know how it works out!
Hugs,  Louisa bear_flower

Hi Everyone!
Does anyone have any secrets they could share for turning wee little bear parts?  (specifically for bears 3 inches and under) I did these fairly easily a few years ago but am having some problems lately   bear_sad   - overworked looking bear arms by the time I've got them turned.  I realize this seems to indicate the problem might be my increasing age :0)  but maybe I've forgotten a trick or two.  I'm hoping it's the later!
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
