Well, like Sue Ann, I am in Texas....and it's raining, again.  Not sure if we're going to get fireworks tonight or not. Oh well, we'll still go to our spot and get blue Slurpees. I can't do anything real fun since I am recovering from hand surgery. Geez, do I sound like a Debbie Downer? lol. It's hard being cooped up.

nimbleknot

Ugh...that blows. Even when things go smooth, flying is stressful. You feel like a total prisoner. i feel really bad for you, I am really sorry. I don't know how people travel all the time for business and remain sane.

We are driving our 5,500 mile trip next year.

Those are SO cute. I love the face on that bigger kitty. Great colors.  bear_flower

We slowly back tracked and sat up on a bank nearby to get off the pathway and my legs went to jelly  bear_wacko   First bear we'd ever seen in the wild and he was stopping our exit to get to the car!!!  Eventually he came out of the tunnel and sauntered past us (holding my breath!).    When eventually he had moved far enough away we went to walk through the tunnel (that was creepy in the dark, hoping not to find anothe bear!!).  When we started walking part of the bottom of my walking boot had obviously had a fright too as it came loose from my shoe and was flapping along like a duck's bill!!!    bear_laugh   So can you imagine us trying to walk fast whilst walking slowly and with my boot going flip flop along the floor!!   bear_laugh  bear_laugh   Luckily we lived unharmed to tell the tale!  Afterwards we got bells to attach to our bags!

Haha! That's funny! I can totally visualize that moment. Funny, yet scary.

When I saw the bear I immediately thought, "uh oh...I didn't read the bear pamphlet...what an idiot...but I know not to run...they just want food...."

I blogged my trip. It has more pics of our Vernal Fall hike. I need to get a link for the really cool shots my husband took, he's the real photographer. I want to go back and see Tuolumne Meadows and hike Half Dome on the next trip. Gotta see Hetch Hetchy too...gorgeous.

Hi Jennifer,
What a cutie - did he move as soon as he saw you?  We had tons of black bears around when we lived up north.  We wore Bear bells when we went off the main areas, to warn the bears we were coming.  Do you use anything like that?

                            hugs,

                            Brenda

He didn't move immediately which surprised me. He moved off the bike trail to the walking trail and sat there. He was very curious. The park rangers were there within a minute. I am sure they were tracking him with his GPS. We stood around and took photos for easily 10 minutes. The rangers just followed him to make sure he didn't cross the road into the campsites. We got lots of pictures and took video.

Funny, that was the third bear we saw that day. However, the other two we saw were much bigger and at higher altitude. They were also much further away (fortunately).

bear.jpg...when I come around the corner and found this little guy sitting in the middle of the trail. I had to slam on my brakes to keep from hitting him.

nimbleknot

She is fanTAStic! Very cute. I love everything you make.

nimbleknot

That's inSANE! It's just too big.

:P

I used to be really into shoes when I worked in an office. But stuff like that doesn't appeal to me anymore. I do have a hobo Ugg purse that I love. I got it as a gift. I'd never spend that kind of coin on fashion but I'd definitely spend $4-5k on a bike.

She's an ex-felon too.

I still like Martha, always have. I subscribed to her magazine for YEARS. She's richer now than before she went to prison. She's obviously doing something right.

kitchen-copy.jpgOh yea, so here's my super-creative-martha-stewart-i-love-my-kitchen shot with two days worth of dishes in the sink.

I can't believe I am posting this.

This was actually Mother's Day morning. Nice huh?

A. the flowers from my daughter
B. Bissell Green machine present (I do admit, this is what I wanted)
C. My coffee
D. Milk of Magnesia

And I actually have to use "B" today because my son smacked my daughter in the face last night and gave her a bloody nose during American Idol and me coloring my hair. I had no shirt on and goop all over my head.

This is why I need "D."

If you want to get  a sense of how often your blog is read, you could install some traffic monitoring software

Typepad already has it built in. I can log into my account and view that as well as where all the hits are coming from.

so I would appreciate your adding me to your list.

Done!!!

I ate some fresh guacamole that I made. I think that will be my chocolate fix since I am not a chocolate lover. But I definitely feel that I ate the equivalent to a chocolate bar in calories.

Also... about the blogs..... hey..!!  You still haven't added mine to your list!!  There is one more thing on your "to do" list...lol

Done Veronica!

I know I've been lazy about updating. I am not so much bothered by the amount of my visitors, I just didn't want to disappoint the folks that visit. I can view who is visiting and how many people are visiting each day. I can view where I am getting hits. I was getting repeat hits from a Polish site. I finally went there and interpreted what they were saying about me. It was a craft chat board and they had been linking to my blog and tutorials. Pretty cool. I am still getting traffic even with my lame photos.  bear_whistle I just wanted to know if other people had slumps too. I visit some blogs that aren't updated in months so i guess I can't feel so bad.

I told my sister that the end of the school year is comparable to "Christmas Stress." It can get ridiculous.  bear_wacko

I've been that way for a few weeks now. I feel bad about it. I have a lot of stuff on my plate, school ending, a volunteer project, applying for a job, racing bikes and packing for a 3 week vacation. I have a half-made bear sitting there looking at me...well sort-of, because she doesn't have eyes.  bear_rolleyes My husband lost my card-reader and didn't get me a new one for a week and I think people got bored with my blog.

I also have a question for you...I visit blogs that will have a photo of a coffee cup as their only entry for the week and have 67 comments on the photo. This is a craft blog, mind you and this will be a pic of a regular 'ole coffee cup with coffee in it and people will go hog wild with comments. I don't get it.

Maybe will make a leg today.  bear_rolleyes  Maybe I have PMS.

nimbleknot

Happens to me too. I get frustrated and don't leave a comment. I feel bad but after a few tries I give  up.  bear_cry

I use 1mm from time to time. I run the thread through the bear, take off the needle, run the thread through the eye then thread the needle again and back through the bear.

nimbleknot

Holy cow, that looks painful!

I had a black eye once. My friend decided to stand on a kickboard underwater (the fiberglass kind you use in the swimming pool...the ones made to float). As he stood on top of it (it was about 2 feet underwater) he fell backwards and the kickboard shot out of the water like a bullet and nailed me in the eye.

nimbleknot

Awww, those ducky pictures are adorable!

I am going to Yosemite in a few weeks, I can't wait.

nimbleknot

Wow, you're so good. I jab all my needles in sponge and throw the others in a band-aid box.  bear_wacko

Now THAT is adorable beyond words. No wonder you want to keep her!  bear_wub  bear_flower
