Tracy: what good news. You really are a good person to take care of the unwanted animals. There is spot in heaven for you...
Michelle
Melissa: You did a fabulous job. I agree with some of the others, you really should try to produce your book. Really, one can't have too many bear books. Right ladies?

Debbie wrote: Tillberg's instructions... I wish you all could have seen! Ummm....picture me with the glue in my hair, hair smeared across forehead (read, glued to forehead!), and at least 5 of the 8 fingers stuck together. Oh, that eye that was supposed to be perfectly adhered in place? It was dangling, glued to the thread I couldn't seem to wrangle out of the way fast enough, and some of the muskrat fur plastered back on the
Debbie: you are a hoot!! I am visioning this comedy of errors and it is too funny for words..Just so you don't think you are alone, something simular happened to me too with a clay nose and sculpy varnish and superglue.
As for the big noses, I am happy to see this thread. I too want to learn more about big noses. Very helpful hints!

Wendy: Your little bear is as cute as can be.....You did a great job!

Tracy---my goodness, what oh what is going on in your neck of the woods? I wonder if it is the same person giving you all their unwanted cats. I think as they catch them, they sneak over to your place to dump them. Now one would have to wonder how many more are there? What can I say, but I feel for you.....Do the best you can....

Heather writes: Anyone have any good places on-line that they do xmas shopping?? that's what I want to do this year, but I'd better hurry!
Heather: shop at Amazon.com. You can find boat loads of stuff and it is shipped right to your door.
As for where am I in my shopping for christmas, well I have yet to begin. But, I plan on bringing my ostrich feather tree to work on Thanksgiving and begin decorating it. From there that will put me in the mood to shop....I think....

Love the picture!
Jane: Chuncky is so cute....I bet you just have a lot of love from him.

Gemma: I love that e-mail you received. I too am a cancer survivor and I almost died 11 years ago. I would like to add one more to that list:
I will never go on a diet again!!! Ever!!!!
Why? because most of my life I was pudgey and always dieting and I hated it. When I got breast cancer and than the horrible infection from the surgery, I was on a central line for some time followed by heavey duty antibiotics, well, I could not keep anything down. I dropped to about 100 lbs. Everyday, I was starving and crying because I was so hungry yet nothing stayed down. It was during that time I vowed never again will I restrict food for the sake being a size 6. I kept that promise. I am happier for it. When I got back to a good weight, I maintained it. So if I want a peice fo cake, I eat it. I just eat in moderation but have never considered dieting since then. I even threw out my scale.
Just my two cents....
Michelle
Cheryl: you lucky dog!! Here in Minnesota (twin cities area) we are waiting patiently for a good snow...Enjoy it, for I think I am destined to look at everybodys beautiful snow pictures as I gaze longingly at my brown grass.....
Michelle
yes in deed, this is a wonderful picture....
Tracy: the pictures are so cute. I'm glad he found a good home with you.

Teddy: I think Daphne has it right. Take patterns you really like and tweak them ie: making a longer nose or lengthen the arms or legs....I think once you work with patterns you will get to understand how they fit together. From there you will begin to start drawing patterns on your own.
There are several book on designing teddy bears. The principles are the same for minis or larger bears. One book I like is Ted Menten's Teddy Bear Studio: A Step-By-Step Guide to Creating Your Own One-Of-A-Kind Artist Teddy Bear by Ted Menten. You can find it on Amazon.com. This book helps you learn about various shapes of the pattern pieces to achieve a certian look. Once you draw out your pattern, you can shrink it on a copier to the size you want.
Hope this helps.

Danni wrote: perhaps she's not getting my emails!
Danni: what a horrible thing to happen to you. You initially thought she was not getting your e-mails. There is a way to track if they were receive. When you send it you can click on a button in your e-mail to send you back a reply saying your e-mail was received and opened. I don't have the steps in front of me, but it is easy. If you want, I can send you further details on how to do that.
Best of luck tracking down this dishonorable person.
Michelle
Lyn: Hope you are feeling better.
Why do I make bears? It's the joy of being creative and making something with my hands. Giving them away to my family and friends for presents gives me just as much joy.
