Hello Teddy Bear friends: Well for two decades now, I have been on the hunt for a good recipe for Irish Whiskey Cake or Rum Cake. I remember I bought a rum cake at a high end department store one year and it was the best I ever had. I would love to have a recipe to make instead of buying it. Anybody out there have a good recipe?

That is so sweet. Animals can end up in the sweetest poses and places.

Magda: this is about control and she is trying to do that to you....It sounds like she has lived in hate and evil her whole life. Thank goodness you don't live in that mean spirited body of hers!!! But I've worked with geriatric patients when doing direct patient care. Organisity (i.e. dementia) is insidious. Meaning, it is slow to come on and years to detect. Family members will not notice for a long time and one day somebody will say "hmmm, grandma is meaner than she use to be...". Personality changes are a symptom. That is a sign there might be organisity or other medical problems. Premorbid, she was already rotten but these traits can become exacerbated over time if there is some dementia happening. She may very well need to see a doctor to rule out any medical or organic diagnosis.
In the mean time, get out from under her controlling thumb. Give her back the damned house and wish her well. Life is too short to live in misery Magda....
Best of luck to you

Judi wrote: Also Michelle, please post a photo of your ostrich feature tree. It sounds really neat!
Judi: I plan on putting it up on Thanksgiving. I have to work that day so, I'll be setting it up. I'll be sure to post a picture. It is really a cute tree.

This is one of my earlier bears sitting next to a bear I made last September.
I start with general and look for the picture of the day....I would copy it and send it to my dad to make him smile. I love to read and respond to others in this section. I next go to Tips and techniques. Next Minis. And last I go to look at everybodys creations wishing I could sew that well. It always amazes me how fast people can make their teddies. I am lucky to sew six a year. Working full time does not help my hobby for I do work 10-12 hours a day....I sew when the mood strikes....But I have a ball looking at posts everyday and making friends. That is really what I love most about teddy talk.

Deb: what a miserable thing to happen. I recommend Norten Internet Security software. Nothing get through!! You my computer guy says to buy a new software every year, just don't renew it when you get a notice in your e-mail. I never have a problem with viruses. It might be overkill to buy it but who cares....I have peace of mind.
Michelle
Deb: what a cute horse. I too love all animals.
Judi: I too love Christmas music. Last year I brought this wonderful CD by Il Divo. Their Ave Maria song is to die for. Celine Dion has a wonderful Christmas CD (Ave Maria is also fabulous).
I am itching to pull out my ostrich feather christmas tree. Unfortunately, with three sneaky cats, it is on the floor and ornaments everywhere within minutes....So I have my little tree at work.
Hope all your animals are warm....

Daphnie: When I was young I was intimidated and avoided confrontation. The older I get the more I won't take things lying down. Today, I would have stopped the boy and give him a crash course on how I want my food packed. If he does not listen. I will call a manager over. I don't like getting people in trouble so I try to coach first. If it still is bad, off I go to find a manager.
Sorry you had a bad day. Please speak up the next time. Good managers want to know about these things so they can coach their employees to do a better job.

Well Marion that was a nice surprise. I think buying yourself bear supplies sounds reasonable to me....Happy spending!!!

Oh Tracy. What a good kind soul you are for caring about the kitties....What horrid beings there are in this world!!! Mean spirited idiots if you ask me....Oh, don't get me going.....
So you may have a lot of kittens. Perhaps you can call a local news station in your area to come out and do a human interest story. While doing it, they could mention, there are kittens available free to a good home. You can screen the "applicants" if you wish. Also highlighting the importance of getting cats fixed before you have unwanted kitties (or dogs...). Perhaps the local ASPCA can help you too with placing them....

Laraine: I have to say, your creation is as cute as a bug in a rug!!! love it.
Michelle
yes Lulu Birdie would be a hit I think. very cute and sweet. How can one resist her?
Well you bear is cute, cute, cute....your ant will love her.
Richy: Marion and Chrissi said it best. I just hope you post pictures of your little creation. I too love Sassy's and if you do not know what fur to choose, e-mail Stephanie with questions about what she recommends. Just tell her the type of bear you want to sew and the look you are after and she can guide you as to what fur she has in stock to achieve that look.
