Hello teddy bear friends: My question has to do with turning long thin tails for miniatures ie like for mice or cats. When I sew wrong sides together, I sit for a while trying to figure out how on earth do I turn it right side. I can't seem to figure this out. Any tips?

Majbritt: love your little bear and the picture of your dog....Just too cute (bear and dog)
Michelle
Just love this picture....
Patty: This is a fabulous bear for your first mini...my goodness, that is a cute as can be bear....

Magda: Well, what can I say? There is a vast opinion about how to take all of this...
My take on this is that this ex of yours has the IQ of a pea or the sensitivity of a snake. What a beastly thing to do to you! To ask you to make his girly-friend a bear is passive-aggressive at best. And he is waving it under your nose. Oh....you poor thing....Tell him it will cost him a couple thousand dollars and when you deliver the bear, make sure it is on your way to a grand party (dressed to the nines) with a gorgeous hunk of a man on your arm....Smile and wish him the best and don't look back....
Bear Hugs to you...

Kim wrote: When I am designing a brand new pattern, i start with sculpting a prototype in polymer clay, then I pattern drape to figure out the pieces and parts.
Kim: what do you mean by "pattern drape"? How is that done?

Jodi: I hope all is well with your dear friend. Being a breast cancer surviver, I understand the fear and sadness that she must be going through and pray she will be fine. The best thing you can do for her is to lend your support which you are already doing.
I would like to suggest a book that helped my through all the process. It might help your frined. It is called "The Breast Book" by Dr. Susan Love. It is written in a way to help women understand what was happening to them, what to expect, questions to ask the doctor and treatment options....It may help your friend.
And....Jodi, having breast cancer is not a death sentance. It is treatable. It's been 11 years since my mastectomy so it is survivable.
Bear Hugs and many prayers for you and your friend. Write to let us know how she is doing

Dear Clare: Life can be yucky. It is hard to make sense out of it sometimes. Eleven years ago I almost died. So when I have a bad day, I thank God I am alive to have a bad day. It helps me put things in perspective.
So what do you do about the blues? Well all our teddy bear friends gave great advise. The one thing I could add is to surround yourself with all the things you love and make you happy.
Please know you are not alone and if you want to say more, we are all here for you.
Hope you feel better soon Clare

Chrissi: what a cutie....I sew mostly minis too... the first picture was taken for the thread asking about your first bear compared to your current work.....When everybody was posting their bears, I took pictures to post too but could not figure out how to do it...now I do.....the second picture was a bear I made for my dad last month when I visited him in Florida. He loves my bears even though I think they are ordinary and he places them in a cabinet amongst his most valuable possessions. He is a dear man....
Jodi: can't wait to see you mini once you complete it....
Michelle

Hello Teddy Bear Friends: I don't sell my bears so I can't speak to all the rich dialog about that. But I do buy artist bears sometimes....so as a buyer, I can tell you what I look for when I buy a bear...this is pretty simple, I look for a bear that touches my heart. If I keep going back to look at it, I know it should be mine... It is not about a picticular artist though I admire many artist here on TT. It is more about the bear and sometimes it is made by an unknown....In Clarion June 2005, I bought three bears from artists I have never heard of before. I just loved what I saw and bought them. So for those that are just beginning, I think people will buy your critters if they have that look that reaches the buyer's heart...Just my two cents...

Cheryl wrtoe: As long as the power is okay, I kind of like the snow
I'm like Cherly: I love the snow as long as I can stay comfortable....We Minnesotians love our snow and are about ready to skewer the weather person when we don't get it....But the storm in Buffalo was very nasty.....I wouldn't want that!!
