After lots of trial and error I finally came up with my version of an anime bear. And I'm still tweaking it.
The key, for me, is a four-part head..two side pieces, a gusset and a back. I tried to incorporate the back into the side pieces, but I lost the shape.
This is one of my wanna-be anime bears. :)
Oh what a cutie! Ive been playing about with a 4 part head too lol but mines coming out weird, trying to keep the nose short but not so short it's gone is hard lol
If you see a pattern you like the looks of but the head isn't quite big enough all you need to do is enlarge the head pieces until it's the size you want it!
Lol I wish it was that easy
i've been working on a pattern forever & just can't get it too look right
Yeah same here. I do loved her bears but I'm looking for something with an even bigger head lol I've been working on a pattern but just can't get it to look right.
 I just got done reading the magazine congraz on the great feature. Your bears are wonderful
Does anyone know where to get a good "anime" style bear pattern? Or a cute bear with a big head:). I've been hunting online but no luck.
Thanks  yes he's super soft and so huggable! I want to play with other furs like mink but I'm still a little afraid lol
I'm sending prays your way   A few years ago I was in a bad car accident, the out come at the time did not look good but I'm here now saying miracles can & do happen.
If it helps the 800 number on the morning glory stuffing box is 1-800-406-4080
Thanks so much. He's actually a really dark red almost purple like and not black but yeah the dark fur was hard to work with and even harder to take pictures of. He looks so much better in person and all the sculpted details of his face don't really show up
I subscribe to the online edition of Teddy Bear Review (can't beat the $10 price) sometime I miss having a magazine I can hold but I can always print it out if I want. Plus the online edition has cool video interviews sometimes! But once my subscriptions up I think I might just get the printed magazine this time around. I also subscribe to Teddy Bears and Friends but they don't offer an online edition yet.
So I've been playing around with real fur for sometime now. I'm sure you all remember me asking like 1,000 questions LOL thanks everyone for your help.
I finally made a bear & here he is
This is "Mulberry" he's made from a recycled rabbit fur coat. I wanted to make a rabbit fur bear before jumping into the "pricer" furs like mink.
SOLD
Newest order. A live sized needle felted lovebird. I had a fun time incorporating they clay in with the wool
He's about 4" tall and 5.5" long from beak to the tip of his tail. Needle felted wool over a wire frame with clay beak and feet and glass eyes.
I had my husband (he's a graphic artist) design a hang tag for me & then I print it out on shrink plastic (like shrinky dinks) it starts about the size of a business card and gets about 50% smaller or I make really tiny ones for mini bears. They almost end up looking like a charm or pendent more than a hang tag LOL
thanks
Thanks everyone!
Oh wow  it looks so life like. Amazing as always

I'm I seeing that right?? Is she listed now at $9.95 no reserve? I'm keeping an eye on all your felts they are soooo cute
This is more of a soft sculpture than a true "plushie"
About 35" long from the tip of the nose to the end of the tail. Wing span is just over 30" and dragon is over 15" tall. Made to sit of your shoulder. Dragon is made of muslin and then hand-painted. Claws and horns are hand sculpted polymer clay and eyes are glass doll eyes. It has a complete wire armature so everything is posable down to the toes!
This dragon is a "prototype" but I will be making more & taking custom orders. I'm still not 100% happy with the pattern so somethings will change. Just contact me if anyone's interested
