Hi all,
I thought I would share this tip with other mini artists. Some of you may already do this - not sure, but I've just discovered that scrapbooking papers make excellent backdrops for photos of minis! I've always used pieces of felt for the backdrops which has been fine, but can look a little fuzzy. Scrapbook paper is fantastic and creates a seemless background and you can have plain or patterned, there is such a variety of papers out there!
What a sweet little chickie, and I love the two-tone bear
Thanks everyone. Daphne, it is a great website isn't it? Lots of interesting things to look at and read about
Hi all,
I just wanted to let everyone know about a French teddy bear website called Sur les pas des ours. The owner kindly asked me for an interview about my miniature bears!
You can check out the website here:
lovely work Dilu
What a little sweetheart
Congratulations Lisa! Well deserved, can't wait to see it!
Winston is AMAZING, Duff, well done
Thanks so much everyone! I wasn't sure whether he was a good idea or not, but I've had some really good feedback about him
Hi everyone,
I recently designed a japanese inspired teddy bear plushie in the shape of a slice of toast! Weird I know, but he was heaps of fun to make and turned out quite cute I think. He is made out of craft velour fabric (from sassys)
Congratulations Daphne
Absolutely love your new website Judi!
Congratulations Krista! Your creations just amaze me, well deserved
Wonderful entries everyone   Judging must have been very difficult - I wonder how many entries they receive?
I'm not sure that my bears would ever be up to this standard to enter - maybe one day
  Congratulations everyone!! Lots of familiar names there
Congratulations Peta! That's very exciting news
I've posted this on TT before, but here it is - my very first bear I made alongside one my more recent ones
That's very interesting Denise. I sit out in the sun about 15mins a day, and let my boy run around in the sun for a little bit each day too so he gets his vitamin D, I've always thought it was important.
Oh, thank you so much Bren, I'm glad you like my dolls The patterns for these dolls are my original designs, but I got some ideas out of books etc...and basically just used my bearmaking skills to fumble my way through.
I have two of Patti Culea's books which are great. I also did an online watercolor pencil face class with Sherry Goshon.
Thanks so much everyone for your comments, glad you like my dollies
I love Etsy too, I've only ever sold one bear on it - but as Lisa said, it's a great marketing tool too, I would recommend to give it a go!
What a beautiful bubba Heather Enjoy every minute with her - it really does go by so FAST.
I feel for you with the colic. My son had colic for 3 months straight, it was hell for him and for us too. We have something here in Australia called "Infants' Friend" - which was the only thing that gave him a bit of relief during those months.
Hi everyone,
Wanted to share this photo of my first attempts at dollmaking, the large one is completely made out of dolskin fabric and the smaller one has a rope/cord body. They were great fun to make but a challenge too - especially the clothes, the large one still doesn't have a proper outfit yet.
I drew the faces with watercolour pencils, and I think this is the part I enjoy most!
Thanks everyone for your opinions, much appreciated. That's a good point Karen, $US is more of an international currency isn't it and most people roughly know the value of it compared to their own currency. Ok, looks like I will be changing to US Dollars!
Thanks
Hi everyone,
Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and best wishes for a happy and healthy 2008!
I have a question for other Aussies out there and also for the Americans. On my new website I have a paypal shopping cart system, and I decided to list everything in Australian Dollars, I'm just wondering whether it will put American buyers off? (95% of my sales go to the US.....)
What do other aussie bearmakers do?
